[Chiang] MPJ on Heat: “They’re hearing what we’re communicating to each other and they’re doing the opposite. If we say ‘switch,’ they’re slipping out for open threes. If we don’t say ‘switch,’ they are actually going to set the screen.”

I don’t know ball, but that sounds like some amazing team chemistry to be able to adjust to what the other team is doing in real-time without confusing yourselves.

  2. Nuggets should just use code words for their defensive call outs. Omaha! Omaha!

  3. ChamberlainsFadeaway

Spoelstra has his brain cloned and transplanted into every player on the Heat. That’s the only way this shit makes sense.

More this guy talks, the more him always messing up on defense makes sense.

Wait but KCP told me that the Heat didn’t do anything it was Denver that lost?

  6. With this and Malone disparaging the team’s effort to the media you’d think they were down 0-2 instead of a Murray 3 rimming out and OT away from being 2-0. Think the Nuggets should be fine but they need to come out strong tomorrow cuz the energy is not inspiring atm.

That’s why you either switch every play or hedge every play and go over the top. Until something different is called – but you don’t do something different every time down the floor if you have to keep switching. That’s what they want. The D wants the switch.

Next game nuggets players just need to communicate in serbian.

  9. DeadlyVortex

Heat players are rebellious teenagers confirmed.

I think many need to hold up on the MPJ, young Klay Thompson comparison.

Even when Klay’s shot wasn’t falling, he was a lock down defender of positions 1-3 at 6’7”. Not to mention Klay has had some historic playoff games and regular season records. Let MPJ be MPJ and grow as a player.

So the Heat players all have the rinnegan…makes sense.

  12. jumboponcho

This takes a militant amount of discipline, probably why their off-seasons are so acclaimed

  13. SweetDick_Willy

Thats an easy fix…just used codes…like “Omaha Omaha”. That means it’s on 2

  14. sitereliable

at the end of the day it doesn’t matter. Denver played possibly their worst playoff game so far and it was still a winnable game.

You really expect Heat to play a record breaking 4th quarter again?

This is like the 2017 finals when the cavs broke the finals record game 4. That’s the only game they won that series.

  15. gsimms97

The ability to do this is so insane. Recognizing this and being able to do it in a split second is amazing

  16. toomuchdiponurchip

These Nuggets guys are talking too much man I really want the Heat to win this series

I’m confused on one gets an open 3 off of a switch, you have to be slow to switch or giving too much cushion.

  18. kokaine21

Don’t most nba teams communicate that way lol

  19. nithdurr

Maybe use handsigns (American Sign Language) or gestures?

  20. RuddyBollocks

Sounds like they need a rotating shorthand

You don’t even have to call out the action off ball lmao. You stand in the gap where you can’t be burnt off the slip and then react. That defensive action should literally be automated by now. If MPJ and Braun are too stupid to read off ball action and Malone proves he is literally unable to coach, then the Heat could actually win the finals lol

  22. bahamapapa817

So you mean to tell me NO ONE had tried this until now

  23. Uwofpeace

MPJ let down Washington so bad he deserves the Heat

  24. Nuktos1517

It also helps that MPJ forgets to defend or close out on players frequently
