Nothing like reopening the wound of a floor burn every day

  2. Child abuse. Every helicopter parents secret weapon.

  3. shakattack917

Didn’t his dad make him dribble in the snow too lmao

  4. Significant_Night_65

That just sounds like child abuse

  5. Miscto3

If Jamal wasn’t making hundreds of millions of dollars and a star, people would be lookin at this as child abuse

  6. Reddits_For_NBA

Did he make Murray shit his pants with regularity so he doesn’t get carted off like Paul Pierce 👀

  7. wear-a-goshdarn-mask

Also shooting free throws in the dark cold at night until he made 10 in a row. Sometimes his hands would be frozen but didn’t matter

  8. Solid-Confidence-966

A pain tolerance drill like that? He could’ve just done a wall sit or a plank

  9. abris33

I think “pain tolerance drills” for your child is like half a step away from child abuse. Jamal’s dad is a bit of a psychopath

  10. Apollo611

“Pain tolerance” is how you describe child abuse on a resume

  11. Funny-Transition7869

uhhh, idk if this is a good thing

  12. jerryvaberry

i feel like you gotta not say this, bc some mf is heating up the kettle rn

  13. czechm800

This just in: Jamal Murray’s father was a fucking psychopath

  14. goblue202320242025

Is any of this actually necessary for developing pain tolerance

  15. teloitteanddouche

ok but what were these drills meant to prepare for? who is drinking tea courtside?

  16. Lower-Examination844

    TIL Joe Mazzulla Jamal’s dad

  17. ShutterBug545

Tf lol was his dad training him to be Batman?

  18. The-Implication-0

Reminds me of the stories of Tua’s dad. Child abuse described as leading to their sons success, not in spite of it…..

  19. DrPepper1904

He sure was rubbing his hand a lot last game. His pain tolerance drills must not be effective lol

  20. Diddleyourfiddle

Should have just hit him… much easier than making tea and equally as abusive.

  21. Zen_360

So did he had to hold the position until the tea was cold or what? This seems sadistic.

  22. Kevon-Looneys-burner

Rebranded child abuse as “pain tolerance drills.” I’m sure he did it out of love

  23. Pretend_Highway_5360

Breh that sounds like terrible parenting and wholly unnecessary

Teams have the best doctors to patch you up and lower the pain

  24. moonboots_runner

    This is prime r/OrphanCrushingMachine material

  25. NotBrandonNelsonV2

Yeah this is obviously just child abuse

  26. PerceusJacksonius

Because had his father not done that, Jamal would be out for the rest of the series with that floor burn.

Or ya know, he would just played through it the same exact way just with less childhood trauma.

  27. Jack_M_Steel

How is this a story that can be released with a positive spin? Straight up abuse

  28. Ru4pigsizedelephants

Now I know why I only made it to division 3 basketball. Thanks, dad, you made me a fucking pussy.

  29. MaltMilchek

I heard his father (who owned a tofu store) taught him to drive with a unique trick – every morning when Jamal delivered tofu, his dad gave Jamal a cup of water which was placed in the drink holder; Jamal must not spill even a drop of it while he is driving. This is ostensibly to prevent breaking the tofu in the boot, but it forces Jamal to drive very smoothly.

  30. bloodmuffins793

All these soft ass motherfuckers calling this child abuse wish their dads cared as much as Murray’s dad

  31. Jason4555

Ok but why go through the trouble of preparing tea every time instead of just heating up some water
