No matter where you stand on trading brown this is a bad look

  2. HailKyrie

Good we don’t want him anyways. Doubt we’d even trade for him tbh. Age and injury issues plus a defensive weak point. Not worth what we’d give up

  3. CantHandleTheTruth34

Fine by me. Does this dude even play or does he just collect his $50+million checks?

  4. username13001

Big ego from a career loser to shut out the most winning franchise in the game

  5. Ok_Acanthaceae6057

    Phew lucky.

I don’t want a guy who shoots 40 ft shots misses a bunch but makes 1 and gets on house of highlights.

  6. Efficient_Art_1144

Regardless of whether we want Dame or not are we taking Chris Haynes seriously still

  7. Dondon1927

No superstar player is going to demand a trade to Boston lol. Everyone knows this already

  8. I_Set_3_Alarms

Because he knows Jaylen would have to be traded to go to him. And we already have so many good guards lol.

    Also who cares

  9. JasonHanky

Currently he’s above his team. I just think for most players at that level they want to be the focus and then the team. I just don’t see him, or a player like him, ever happening with the Celtics and the teams history. It’s always about where you fit in the legacy versus your own. Call it fear, call it selfishness; but just how I view those big names and seeing a move to Boston.

Don’t want overpaid and old Dame bro. This ain’t 2019 anymore

  11. NervousPervis

Thank god. I hate that trade idea.

  12. Billybaja

Yes Boston, tantamount to 1960s Birmingham Alabama. The klan members walk openly in the streets in Boston. Everyone knows this

  13. sandote

Guys who aren’t team players know they won’t be coddled and treated better than their teammates in Boston. No news here.

  14. freshleebaked

Lmao what a bunch of losers coping hard like you wouldn’t want Damian lillard loool

  15. airmagswag

Crazy that he’s so vehemently against going to a perennial conference finalist lmao

  16. Brad-Stevens

Low key the most selfish dude in the league

He loves Portland because there is zero pressure and he gets the most money

He loves to play the “woah is me” role … And you can’t play that here

  17. DocDRabbit

Y’all are so dumb this man averaged 32/5/7 on 46/37/91 and you’re actually saying he wouldn’t help us. MVP caliber player and if ages like Steph is we won’t even have to worry about his contract. Easy swap for JB if Dame wants out.

  18. Plastic_Database_645

AS IF we want him anyway. Dude can’t even defend even when his life depended on it.

  19. EndlessCola

Nobody wants to go to Boston. We either have to just make the trade anyway and win them over (which isn’t really working out so far) or draft. The negative rep (both earned and unearned) is too strong. Now if we become the unquestioned title favorites and start collecting rings that MIGHT change, but for now this is where we are.

  20. SquimJim

If we are going to get a 3rd offensive weapon, I’d rather it be in the front-court anyway. Smart/White/Brogdon are all very capable PG’s

  21. luke_workin

Good I don’t want him either. We gotta stop the fetish with small aging undersized point guards who rely on their speed to be dominant.

  22. Ear_Enthusiast

We’re a fucking mess. We’re on our third coach in three years. He almost didn’t survive his first playoffs, so that would have four coaches in four years. You gotta think Joe is still on the hot seat. All of our damn assistants have quit. The players looked unmotivated and unprepared, and at times uninterested, in the playoffs. We have one big pushing 40 and another big whose legs are 40. Why would Dame come here?

  23. fakebones96

Only really wanted Dame if we were able to keep JB. We can be annoyed he doesn’t want to play for us, but it sounds like it’s mostly down to Brooklyn or Miami. Not the Lakers, Knicks, or Sixers. Let’s not take it so personally.

Miami would be the most interesting fit. They turn into the Finals favorite out of the East, which is great news for us because our guys play better when they’re not the favorite

  24. oldtype09

I do wonder why Lillard suddenly feels the need to put this out there through Haynes. Are Boston and Portland talking about something?

  25. KyrieLS777

I think it’s pretty safe to say that a lot of players don’t want to play here. Unfortunate but it is the harsh reality. They need to build a better culture. On top of that there’s the whole racism thing that Boston fans just can’t seem to shake.

  26. normalpatrick

Why would the Celtics trade for Dame? It would have to be JB for Dame straight up I guess. Dame will be 33 next month and JB will be 27 in October. Nothing like trading a 26 year old All NBA player for a 33 year old smaller point guard. He’s free to hold a negative opinion of the Celtics/the City but to act like he’s actively rebuffing the Celtics is a bit silly.

  27. garvierloon

He’s a rapper, why would we trade for him? We need ballers

  28. BananaStandBaller

It’s always funny to me how dismissive any prospective traded star is of coming to Boston. It’s a major market, great ownership. Just seems odd?

  29. jma7400

I mean I feel like this is a thing for a while. We need a ring next year to change things.

  30. EvenTurnip9738

Dame still mad that JT had to carry his dead weight in the Olympics

  31. pass_ball

Chris Paul is a better fit next to Tatum.

  32. EllEmEnOhPee0426

This is Chris Haynes the mouthpiece of Damian Lillard. But this is also Chris Haynes, motherfckn Chris Haynes. So, I would take this with a grain of salt but then again I don’t want an aging PG that makes 50M+ a year.

  33. ecclectic_collector

I think its more likely the Celtics make a push to sign CP3 at the MLE and then maybe move Brodgon in a deal for a more traditional wing player… but a Lillard trade doesnt make sense

  34. Mr_Driver_1992

The league just assumed Massachusetts is this screaming ruplican racist state that has or wants nothing to do with the societal evolution that has taken part these last 5-8 years.

While there are a lot of bad eggs and the loudest racists, I’ve met WAY more decent people than not.

It’s a shame, and some of these NBA players like Draymond and LeBron haved used their platform to generalize the state.

Dame, like others don’t want to come here because of the racism.

  35. Washableaxe

As a Massachusetts native I’ll never understand why Boston had such a bad reputation among players…don’t care about Dame but it makes me sad players automatically don’t want to be here.

  36. DrDrBender

Not sure Boston wants him, he is a great individual player but not sure he has really proven he wins at a high level under pressure.

  37. Hour-School-2255

He’ll be there in a week lol. They only downplay anything this much when it’s what the star really wants.

  38. DoingTheThing42

Who gives a fuck honestly fuck that guy

  39. tonylouis1337

I can confidently report that he doesn’t wanna go anywhere.

My source: Damian Lillard in 5 million different interviews

  40. MarquisJames

y’all saying no superstar wants to come here but you are coming here to win a chip this ain’t a fucking party city. you don’t got that dawg in you we don’t want you anyways.
