Best case scenario is Fred does opting in so we can trade him. CP3 and Harden's situation drops his value significantly. Heck I believe the reason why we didn't trade him last deadline was because of Kyrie and Westbrook. Fred has to realize that there's always gonna be a better guard than him in trade talks.

If Fred is forced to come back due to glut of available guards he may have to park his ego and realize his limitations. Fred is not Kyle Lowry.
It was obvious since All-star break that he should just opt in for a year. The ship had sailed by that time for him to get paid big like he wants.
I think he can go over D’angelo Clarkson and maybe Westbrook but other PG better. After the play off, Gabe’s price just went up
He can't opt in. Next summer he will be a year older and a year further than his all-star appearence and championship. Gotta sign a four year deal this summer.

In the last decade of Raptors history, we’ve only had Kyle and Fred. Great players but don’t command the opposing team’s best guy. To me, a guy like that can unlock the rest of the offense. I would argue the best offenses right now and coming up have great guards. Murray. Doncic. SGA. Fox. They’re all just in the west. This is the only way I can see us compete for chips going forward and keep the core together
