This one is intriguing to me. Who do you think we would take with #4 though
I’d do it for the simple fact of there’s no way KAT can live up to that 50 million + cap hit. Super Max contracts are crazy for guys in the KAT, Bradley Beal, and Jaylen Brown tier of player.
I wouldn’t touch KPJ with a 10’ rod. The rest of the deal looks solid though

If Scoot was there at 4 absolutely, sadly he wont be. If Houston had a player or players Portland would take to drop down one spot where we land Smith and Scoot absolutely, even if we have to sign and trade Naz in it somehow, which would make it very complicated. Scoot and Smith to MN, Naz sign and trade, Porter, and 4 to Portland, and whatever other pieces.
I’d want two more future firsts — it’s a three player draft and Smith was pretty unspectacular as a rookie, the picks can even be top-10 protected, just need some more trade ammo — but I like the framework of this deal.
It would also mean the Wolves could re-sign NAW and Naz and use most of their MLE. I don’t like KPJ, but I’m pretty sure he can be cut at anytime in the next year and the last two years of his deal are wiped off the books.
Man the undervalue of kat is wild. At min from the rockets it’s smith, green, 4 and couple future firsts. We may be sick of him but he’s still a multi time all nba all star. He earned the contract he has whether we want to pay it or not.
There’s no way Houston does that imo.
Bring in a 3rd team for 3-way spice to make it better for everyone invloved.
I’m allergic to stupid drama and KPJ has had too much of that.
