Not Rockets specific news but obvi could affect our draft selection.
F!!!
Bobi Klintman at 4 it is then!
They have the deal to get it done. BI + Trey/Herb & their first round pick later in the lottery is more enticing than what we can realistically offer.
If they’re serious about a deal to land Scoot, they’ll have to either work with Charlotte or work a what-if deal with Portland to execute on draft night after Charlotte makes its pick (which they’d only do if Charlotte passes on Scoot of course). If they go the latter route, they run the risk of either Charlotte drafting Scoot or another team offering Portland a more enticing package in the meantime, especially if it’s a team that would love to have either Scoot or Miller.
Trading McCollum to Portland for 3rd pick?
Could get Chris Paul for less, move McCollum for whoever and let Dyson get some run. Trade Zion to us for #4 and a lifetime team BOGO coupon to Landry’s affiliates for all Pelicans employees. Math works, pull the trigger Gilbert
Would be a wild trade. BI and Zion are the obvious plays but they are often injured.
Trading Zion id guess
Trying to think what they might dangle to the Hornets/Blazers as trade bait. Zion is a de facto bust with how much he doesn’t play due to injuries. Same applies to Ingram to a lesser degree, and I’d argue he’s the most un-tradeable member of that team. McCollum and Valančiūnas aren’t as valuable as those two but they’re interesting pieces to have.
