  1. The argument that things just broke their way is kind of a meh take. That is literally the truth for almost every champion, every year.

    Even this year it is arguable that Denver missed better teams in the Bucks and Celtics. Even though the Heat have been on a tear I’m not sure they match up as well as those they’ve defeated would have. AND the Lakers weren’t the toughest team Denver could have faced in the WCF IMO either.

    Winning the postseason is often a combination of good play and a few breaks along the way.

  2. The way I look at it, for every team that wins a championship, things broke their way, they had some good luck on their side. However, they have to get credit for putting themselves in a position to be the beneficiary of that good luck. Maybe some other team would have also experienced that luck if they were in your position, but they weren't because you put yourself there instead.
