Should the Sixers consider trading for Bradley Beal?
for real?? another guard? another injury prone āstarā?? who doesnāt even have a good playoff run? and who dont play defense? for a player who played the best on the most important game of the season? ill just comeback here when the trade is done and tobi is back to being an all star caliber player on another team

1. >90% chance that Harden will re-sign and hopefully there will be a framework announced soon.
If no framework, this could go on past June 30. After all, Harden couldn't possibly know what the Rockets (or Spurs) are up to.
2. There is ZERO point of trading Tobi before finalizing Harden's new contract, which we may have a framework soon, or maybe not till after June 30.
3. Sixers LOVE Tobi. Only the fans hate Tobi because they don't understand about Salary and the CBA. Tobi is expiring, so his salary is no longer a negative.
3a. Tobi would not be traded in June except to save 5-8 M, to make the re-signing of Harden more financially workable.
3b. The same goes for trading most of the contract of PJ Tucker but some believe there aren't suckers with true cap space to absorb his contract.
3c. If Harden would take enough of a discount – say 4 yrs at 40, 38, 36, 34 = $148 M, then maybe Morey entertains the trade market for Tobi, looking for bargains.
4.. For those that say they would only trade Tobi (for Beal, etc) if Harden leaves in free agency, then unless that happens Tobi will not be traded. There is no doubt Morey will do everything reasonable to keep Harden.
5. If Harden doesn't leave, then Morey CANNOT trade Tobi for someone with multiple years on his contract, if he isn't very desirable.
For example Tobi for DFS + Joe Harris is interesting as Joe is expiring and might help with shooting. And DFS has multiple years around 15 M, which is about the same as Tobi might get if Sixers decide to keep him past June 2024.
It would be tough than the 2nd Apron but we would remain a contender.
6. Regarding Bradley Beal, I don't want him, if no Harden and a super hard NO if Harden re-signs. He is NOT a winner, would take away playing time from Maxey and others. It would leave a gaping hole at the PF position.
Beal is making more than
There is ZERO chance that Morey would put the team so far over the 2nd Apron, if Harden re-signs and also Tobi were traded for Beal.
With the expected extension of Maxey and Melton, we could have a team salary of 210 M for the 2024-2025 season, with the 2nd Apron around 194 M. That would be devastating.
7. If people don't understand the CBA, much less the New CBA, they shouldn't be proposing trades and expect to be correct.
8 The Sixers don't have draft picks and a desirable young player to interest the Wiz. Only could have a bunch of pick swaps and the 2029 first. Wiz could do better elsewhere. Eventually Beal would waive his no trade clause.
9. More likely Tobi is not traded, though Morey would re-evaluate at the Trade deadline.
9b. It is very possible that Tobey re-signs for what he is worth at the end of June 2024.
Bill Simmons is full of crap. 90% chance Harden will return. 100% Morey wants Harden back.
Harden would sign for around 150 M over 4 yrs.
Beal is making 108 M over the next 4 yrs. It would cripple the Sixers.
I was on the Houston site, and they have no idea what HOU is planning to do.
Most people believe that agents are just HOU for leverage to get the clients more $.
Note: There is no Cap Space during the future of the Embiid era. People need to stop using the term "space". There is only more salary or less salary.
There also is no retooling for teams well above the Salary Cap Threshold, as would be the case even if Harden went to HOU for nothing. If Harden leaves there would only be a $12.221 M full MLE.
Note, that there has not even been news about Morey trading anyone. Usually Keith Pompey is busy serving the needs of opponent teams. Because of the new CBA, there should be lots of trades in June, ahead of the new rules.

The only Tobi trade at this time I would consider is with Nets for DFS + Joe Harris (expiring).
Trade would save about 5 M this season, to help with the signing of Harden.
DFS is 1 yr younger than Tobi and Joe would be another shooting threat.
Tobi is better than DFS in several categories and Nets may want to move past Joe Harris.
I would rather have free agent Rui Hachimura for our wing

i would definitely consider it, beal can be a great number 2 and maxey could thrive as the definite 3. with harden sometimes maxey would have to be the 2 which heās too young he wasnāt ready some nights. feel like beal would be more consistent scorer than harden
hell yeah, 76ers will be lucky to have a "young" superstar like Beal who is not going to choke during playoff
76ers still need to trade Harden, Tobias, Embiid, if they ever want to go past 2nd round playoff and get some young superstar, not a fake MVP

We cant even think of giving up a single draft pick. In my opinion we dont have an even close team to getting a title. I guess with embiid your always in the convo but were in a bad spot. We went all in on this team and with tampering, our future isnt good. Elton brand really screwed this team, and morey was in a bad spot (was crazy to take this job) i love maxey and embiid but there the only 2 that we have to get back some really good draft capital. Im not sure what we do from here.

Just read a Portland article by Sean Highkin (The Rose Garden Report) where he correctly explains why "trading Dame Lillard is not viable". Dame, unlike others like KD, understands that he would unlikely be able to compete for a Chip if he was traded. He understands the full scenario of gutting a team to trade for him. Then there are injuries and luck.
By the same thinking, much of what is posted in the media is just hypothetical and click bait and won't actually happen.

There are teams out there that have way better assets to trade for Beal than the Sixers
If thatās the case and Harden walks, couldnāt the sixers trade Tobi for Beal and still get VanVleet? Even though Beal hasnāt played in forever I would still get rid of Tobi. Plus if Beal isnāt playing well you could always flip Beal for a lot of role players, draft picks, or for a potential star.
