Despite being boring, despite not being a top 5 player, despite stat padding, Jokic kept quiet and had a plan. He’s a champion and just exposed the NBA media for their horrible bias, but unless we stand up and force these supposed NBA analysts to actually watch the games, the NBA is doomed and Jokic’s championship means nothing.

I didn’t make this video to just celebrate Jokic and the Nuggets. Congratulations by the way. No, this is an urgent PSA that I’ve been making for years that could save the NBA and maybe now can get through: celebrate more players than just LeBron, have people on shows who actually watch the games, and take a page out of the NFL’s book and to prove it, I got the receipts of just what the media’s doing that’s hurting the league.

Starting with who the media’s not so secret agenda on who they choose to talk about. The NBA has been a player centric league, building up players since the 80s with Bird and Magic and using their popularity to interest viewer.

And so when LeBron gets eliminated and teases retirement, the narrative shifts from a time 2x MVP Nikola Jokic averaging a 30 point triple double, making Anthony Davis look like a rotation player on his way to the finals to look at what LeBron did at 38 years old, scoring 40 in maybe his last game ever. Mike Malone, Nuggets coach was even mad when the Nuggets won 1-0.

It was even to the point that Kendrick Perkins who you saw in the intro, saying that we need to market Jokic better. And even then, rather than getting the basketball world excited about Jokic, we get, Jokic is boring, we get ohh Jokic doesn’t have a post game to which I’ll let JJ Reddick take over.

Nikola Jokic as won MVP twice and not once was he even in top 10 in popularity. And just 2 weeks ago, he’s not even worthy of a supermax? And it wasn’t just this year, no it’s been going on for 3 years.

Remember when Nick Wright was saying Chris Paul deserved MVP over Jokic in 2021.

This narrative came 2 months before the season ended. Jokic was so far ahead of the pack that they had to manufacture an MVP candidate

And instead of going to any of the other top performers, they went to Chris Paul, not even the top scorer on his own team Devin Booker. Kendrick Perkin’s argument for Chris Paul was that the last time the Suns were the #1 seed, someone on that team won MVP.

All for the sake of views. As we’ve heard show hosts say, Jokic isn’t good for ratings. They don’t want to talk about him any more than they have to. And as a result, the casual viewer doesn’t know who Jokic is. Heck this video might not do well. And the cycle continues.

We’ve heard analysts say that basketball purists might love Jokic for all the amazing things he does on the court and that a casual viewer who’s drawn to athleticism, dunks, handles, just won’t get it. Well then why not help them get there?

So break down Jokic’s passing, break down how he reads the game, his unorthodox touch. We have people like Thinking Basketball helping people understand. I hope that I’m helping more people appreciate greatness, not just media agendas because when LeBron, then Steph actually retire, the NBA doesn’t even have one of the best players in the world marketed to take the torch.

  1. Jokic was a BEAST and espn did a horrible job on coverage of the Nuggets just terrible and the Nuggets amazing Murray,Porter Jr,Gordon,on down Jokic been awesome Murray and Porter Jr were just injured thanks for this video I'm a basketball fan

  2. 7:38 comparing ja to zion is crazy. Ja actually lives up to his hype and can play, meanwhile zion is so injury prone he will average more injuries than ppg

  3. Well done by Silverstein and the Rat Pack, has those racial tensions enflamed nicely, The Rat Pack needs it.

  4. no wonder Jokic was in a big rush to get home for horse racing after the job was done, why stick around when he's dealing with racist aholes in the media who keep trolling him? he's a winner, success is the best revenge

  5. His name is Jokić, “Joker” is a mildly derogatory appellation which I suspect Nikola tolerates, but doesn’t particularly appreciate, based on his demeanor when someone calls him “Joker” in person.

  6. 😅😂Kendrick is horrible he sucked as a basketball player..he was never ever a mvp candidate he was like the 5th best player on his team

  7. He's going to be a force to be reckon with for a while. I wouldn't be surprised if all goes well, the Nuggets with Jokic runs the NBA for the next 5 years until there is a major contender to compete. Not saying the talent isn't already there, but other teams need to do something very special in order to contain this man.

  8. If jokic is a free agent ,all these analysts will want him in their favorite team…..guy's efficiency and durability is on another level..every team wants that ..

  9. they did this about both Nuggets and Miami…and it was great seeing that those 2 teams got the best ratings in years..

  10. Could be because Nikola Jokic is a Serbian player who doesn't give a rat's _ss about the craziness of the sports media circus… U.S. sports culture is not shared by every country.

  11. Basketball is a sport where height is much more important than talent. Don't expect greatness or popularity.

  12. What do these media pundits all have in common? They all Voted for P e d o J o e and they hate White ppI even though they are White themselves. Dems are self hating White ppI filled with guilt!

  13. He doesent.dunk much and doesnt.cry.much to the ref but he can finished the.job hahahhha.. nba media destroyed.

  14. These Negroid Media Morons just can't accept the fact that this really European White dude is as good as he is.

  15. American players care about "the bag" and put their brand before the game, their job, and has a huge hip hop influence that many don't realize the rest of the world doesn't care about.

  16. Cedric Maxwell said it years ago, black players simply don't think a white player CAN be better than them. I've seen it for years even playing pick up ball. Over the years it has translated to the media and even fans.

  17. I'll be honest, I've never heard of him till yesterday. Then I saw a few clips of him play—his beautiful passing, court vision, and high IQ, and I instantly fell in love.

Just a casual fan. I've never had a favorite player since Kobe (could never get onto the hype of anyone else). Seeing Jokic play and knowing that he won despite being completely unorthodox makes me happy. Easily my new favorite 🙂

  18. I noticed that many American sports commentators are so biased and arrogant…they think highly of themselves!
