    Zion is awesome!

    Zion is always hurt!

    Rabbit season!

    Duck season!

How long were we the 1 seed? And how was the strength of schedule?

At some point you have to ask is the talent worth the distraction and missed games. I would love to give it another season to see if Zion can stay healthy but if the FO who works with him everyday on a personal level, sees what he gets into and wants to move on I get it

I don’t think we want to trade him. I think almost all of us really like Zion and hope he does well.

I do think we have serious doubts as to a)does he even want to be here? b)does he take himself seriously as a professional athlete? And c)will his value nose dive if we don’t make a move now?

A year ago I would have thought the idea of trading him was fucking stupid. Fuck maybe even 10 days ago. But now, I’m definitely willing to listen and mull over offers.

I can’t believe Moriah Mills single handedly destroyed future of the Pelicans. Damn!

this is something that has been confusing me. towards the end of the season we heard so much about how the pels are a real contender with a healthy zion, and a play in team without him which seems to be mostly true

a lot of people are also comparing greg oden’s 8 ppg career to zion’s 25.8 ppg on ridiculous efficiency. is it really worth it to yall as pels fans to move on? especially when teams are demanding extra in any trade package for an mvp-caliber player?

Get Zion some therapy, up his cardio and let’s wait to talk about trades after this season.

Winning changes everything and I have no doubt we can win with our current (healthy) roster.

I’m just waiting for this Ja punishment to drop so we can get out of the news cycle

Now c’mon… you can claim he made us the one seed but then you also have to admit he’s the reason we fell out of that spot and lost in the play-in. And if you can admit that within the scope of just the last two years, it’s not hard to see why trading him is being discussed.

I don’t even consider myself team trade Zion, I can see the logic to both sides so I’m a Zion centrist, but team keep Zion is definitely more annoying on this sub with these constant posts. Y’all act like he’s a MVP candidate who led us to the #1 seed and that’s it. Just absolute blinders on to the fact that he never plays. He’s played more than ~30 games in 1/4 seasons. That’s insane. That’s worse than AD ever was. Worse than Kawhi is now. If we trade him it’s pretty clear why and you’d have to be dumb to not understand the logic. These guys are around him all the time, if they want to trade him clearly they see he’s not putting in the work to get healthy.

Mans a bust. Too worried about thoty’s and food.

He’s also the reason you didn’t make the playoffs and have peaked as a 9 seed with him

My issue isn’t unloading Zion to another team via trade per say. My issue is doing it to attain Scoot. I’m genuinely afraid the Pelicans are doing all of this potential maneuvering to attain the 2023 version of Markelle Fultz. SH’s ball handling, ability to penetrate and speed would benefit any team. But dude, like MF, can’t shoot coming into the league. And guys that can’t shoot often never significantly improve. (See Ben Simmons.) It took 2nd pick Lonzo going to Chicago to shoot a decent % from 3…for 35 games.

All I’ve heard in the last two drafts has been we need shooting and a rim protector. I love Dyson and his game. But he isn’t the shooter AJ Griffin with the Hawks was a a rookie, and nowhere near as good in the post as Williams for the Hornets was; both of whom were available. I don’t see how SH addresses any of the perceived needs for this team. So I can only guess the Pels are going to attempt a mini-rebuild by swapping Z for Scoot and hoping they hype was deserved. And it very well may be.

BUT, if this franchise cuts ties with Z and he ends up getting his shit together on and off the court AND SH can’t hit a 3 when it matters; Pels fans will be experiencing a lot of regret for multiple seasons. This franchise’s fans have endured enough of that BS. I don’t want to see it happen again. So whatever happens, the FO needs to make damn sure Z is toast and SH is set to be the toast of this rookie class before making any moves. If SH is the second coming of rookie D Rose or Westbrook great. If he isn’t, they may need to rename the play in tournament The Pelican Invitational.

It really doesn’t matter what we want. The team is going to do what the team wants to do.

But do I want to trade an exception talent that has a terrible health record, less than stellar maturity, zero leadership skills, poor work ethic & possibly over his contract weight number? Yes.

Tbh I really don’t understand why it’s such a ridiculous idea. I don’t think the front office would do it because it makes your org look wack to rookies and free agents but the guy is even less healthy than everyone predicted.
