[Bradeaux] If James Harden doesn’t come to Houston, “the #Rockets are expected to have interest in Lakers restricted free agent Austin Reaves. Reaves is a guy they like a lot.” Thoughts on Reaves in Houston?

Won’t happen Lakers are not letting AR walk.

I like Reaves. There’s the concern that playing with LeBron, AD, and DLo, he had multiple high-gravity guys on the court with him, so at first I thought it might be an “Austinsanity” situation, but the more I watch of him the more he impresses me. I’d like the signing better than Harden. I wonder how much we’d have to pay him for LA not to match.

  3. FUCK NO

I am baffled on how many of you guys here are willing to throw money at a shooting guard who was the 3rd/4th option on the team. At that point I rather pay FVV w/e we would offer AR15.

omg why the fuck would we need austin reaves????

I hate the Harden idea with all my heart and soul

If Harden does not come back to Houston the team is expected to have interest in [INSERT ANY FUCKING NAME DOES NOT HAVE TO BE A BASKETBALL PLAYER] according to sources

  7. Nowww were talking ☺️. That Harden talk was making my skin crawl

I’d be fine with giving Reaves however much money the Lakers won’t match. The most important thing is that he fits with the timeline. Signing most other FAs on the market means towards the end of their contracts, they’ll likely be bad salaries just when we may start to really compete (assuming our youngsters blossom). Reaves doesn’t have that issue. Even if he’s not as good as he was last year, assuming he is just a 3rd/4th option, he’s still going to be productive. Overpaid maybe, but at least productive.

And the Rockets if they want to sign anyone would have to really overpay. So might as well overpay someone who at least will still be in his prime in 3-4 years.

The way people have been reporting on the Harden situation makes me think that he’s not coming and it was a leverage play for a max contract from Morey like I thought

Like they’ve gone from basically assuming he was coming to reporting contingency plans and saying “He might stay in Philly after all”

    Would love this signing tbh

He is not going to work for damn near most teams if they actually go after him. The rockets better stay the hell away, he is going to get way overpaid. And he benefits from his situation. He extremely likely won’t be able to produce on a roster like this. Like some might like to expect from watching him with the Lakers this season.

I’d offer harden a vet minimum contract not worth a dime more

Reaves hype seems alot like THT after 2020.

Picking Harden over Reeves is just picking selling jerseys over winning at this point. Harden is good at stat padding but not good at helping a team win at this point.
