It’s not about the 2 top players. Bring in a better supporting cast. Build that up. Trading one of them for some pieces is a step backwards and they know it.
They've peaked as a duo. JB has to go asap. His ball handling has somehow gotten worse and hes constantly out of control. Preferably a trade for a playmaking point guard.

These two don’t make fundamental sense together as a duo, since they try to do the same thing on offense, and in term ball hog, when what this team needs is a clear leader.
Tatum’s potential is greater then Brown’s. Trade brown for picks or lower end pieces, this team doesn’t need another superstar to win. Doing that will allow Tatum to thrive while letting him lead his talented teammates, and give the Celtics a real shot at a satisfying championship run.
Plus Brown doesn’t even like Boston. He’s been vocal about it multiple times. The man is a massive racial activist in one of the most racist cities in America, he clearly doesn’t want to be there.

Celtics really don't need to add anything they need to drop the ego and stop trying to play like the second coming of Kobe and go back to playing the same team ball that Brad Stevens had them playing in like year 1-2 of this team formation. If they can't do that i'd trade both of them as they just wouldn't be team players.
