  1. Brandon Miller is more along the timeline of the win now that Dame wants more so than Amen Thompson. He can come in and have an immediate impact on the offensive side of the ball even as just a spot up shooter. I compare the impact he would have to that of Keegan Murry on the Kings his rookie season. Miller's 3pt% is higher in college that Murry's was too. He projects to be the wing that Portland has been searching for since Batum left the Blazers. It sounds like he takes pride on the defensive side of the ball, and has the physical tools to be at least adequate defender, although he might need some more muscle and a couple years seasoning to realize more of that potential. The only question mark is the character stuff but that is hard to tell. In that regard I do like Amen Thompson and Amen has a lot of good qualities in the length, athleticism, and upside. He seems more of a project though just because of the shooting deficiencies. He may develop a more consistent shot and if he does he will be scary. But he is more of a risk and because of that time required to get better is a long term prospect but not someone who might give Dame some help immediately out of the gate like Scoot or Miller.

  2. Don't think you start Miller. Thybulle starts and Miller comes off the bench. Don't really need scoring along side Dame and Ant, you need length and defense. At least to start the season. Maybe by All Star break or Trade deadline.

  3. I don’t like the idea of Brandon Miller! I’d like scoot to fall to the Blazers and try and make the best trade possible with the teams that are really high on him.

  4. The Blazers have to be thinking about the new "Repeater" tax penalty clause when it comes to deciding roster value. These rookies with their small contracts add great value per their development and how much they cost, relatively next to nothing, thus increasing the available salary slots for trades and FAs.

  5. I’m not mad at the idea of picking Miller and going out and getting a guys like DFS or OG. I assume we would need to trade Ant for OG though, but who knows at this point. Get a backup big (Gifford?) and backup PG (Monte M?) and that is a top 5 seed in the West if healthy with some young upside.

  6. Dude, the chances OG, Miller and Sharpe will be on the same team next season are nil

  7. Say we do ant & 23 for OG & have Miller off the bench then make a trade for Gafford & Wright
    Dame Sharpe OG Grant Nurk
    Wright Thybulle Miller Jabari Gafford

  8. I'm not really disappointed if Scoot or Miller falls to us. IMO if it's Miller we will keep it…If it's scoot it will be traded. I'm leaning more towards Miller, because I'm not overly confident with Cronin…We need to shop our picks for some veterans to keep Dame satisfied and must get whatever Dame wants with our MLE. I knew once I saw Houston pop up as 4th I knew we would be a uniquely great position so I was never that upset over Wemby.
