Jalen Hood-Schifino Could Be The Toronto Raptors’ Missing Piece

One of the most intriguing prospects in the 2023 NBA draft is Jalen Hood-Schifino and the player has been touted by many reporters to be a perfect fit with the new look Toronto Raptors under head coach Dark Rajakovic. JHS was a standout in his freshman season with Indiana because of his incredible ability to work the pick and roll combined with his 6’5 height and 6’10 wingspan. This makes him one of the most unique point guard prospects the league has ever seen.

Even with such great traits associated with Hood-Schifino, there are still some major concerns that could put them off taking him in the lottery, but with the Raptors having the 13th overall pick, he could be the exact type of player that Masai Ujiri and Bobby Webster want to gamble on.

Jacob Gramegna breaks down everything you need to know about this player, in this video on Amateur Hour Sports. Do you think Jalen Hood Schifino is worth drafting?

  1. Bro, I think you've covered every player, kind of annoying.

  2. His no look passes and Scottie’s no look passes would be wild.

  3. Thanks for doing the video Jacob! Obviously when we spoke about him, we didn’t know Darko was going to be our HC… buttt now knowing that I’m even more intrigued. Big PG, amazing pnr game, and the shooting isn’t as bad as people think. He shot 37% from 3 on OTD pull ups. 42% on mid-range OTD pull-ups. I think in darkos system, this is a great pick. Definitely a couple names I would consider before him though, no doubt.

  4. This is my favourite pick for 13, 6’6 pg under our development. I think he could quickly end up looking a bit like haliburton in just 2-3 years

  5. Whoever the raptors pick is good with me for me it’s Keyonte George Cason Wallace

  6. If Raptors FO picks him, I'm good. If Raptors FO picks someone else I'm good. Raptors FO knows how to do their job.

  7. I wonder if there’s plans to get another mid to late first round draft pick. Rather than trading to get a top 5 pick. This draft is stacked. Trayce Jackson Davis is a Marc gasol type player. If we can get him at the end of the first or top of the second round wow. He fits us perfectly as a bench big man I really like JHS Jalen hood s. I could see him thriving more in the nba than he did in college. A lot like Scottie

  8. With his box plus minus, if he becomes an NBA starter, he'll be the first ever to do that with a BPM in college like his.

  9. I saw the JHS was a dark horse for a Raptors pick.. you know who else was a “dark horse pick” Scottie and Darko.. and here we are

  10. We really should be trading our greatest assets (OG, Siakam) for picks this draft. It's loaded.

  11. I love how he plays squared up to the backboard, faces forward and uses his eyes as a weapon. His skill development will likely be steep but his measurables are great and he isn't going to be the type of guy to chase unnecessary shots

  12. Fart, not at 13….he is basic…there is no way you can convince me (I'm writing this in the first minute of the video), let's see how this video ends

  13. Dawtin, Malachi Flynn, Banton..now Shefino?? Plus if SB plays the point 🤔. Flynn was also known for his pick and roll play

  14. I doubt it, Raptors just had the stars aligned in 2019. They need a solid big three iwth already established players.
