We should collectively refer to this as the “villain’s shot” now

Nah I didn’t need to see this today

It doesn’t hurt as much because of 2014
If this (and Duncan blowing a layup in game 7) was the last memory of the Spurs dynasty that would have been awful

Too soon.

I still would’ve rather had 2013.
We’d still have 5 rings at minimum. Timmy would have had 4 finals mvps and Kawhi potentially has one less. And the most iconic playoff moment in NBA history would not have been at our expense.

To this day I don’t get why Timmy was benched during this sequence
2) God I still remember where I was and how I felt when the shot happened. Only others events that resonate like that are 9/11 and when I got married lol.

I’ve only ever seen this sequence once and that was when it was happening real-time during the game. I would always immediately look away or scroll fast enough if a random video of this monent would creep up since. Fast forward 10 years and I can still feel the scars of what could have been, the majestic 2014 run notwithstanding.

Just imagine if Duncan was 6-0 in the Finals. Jordan status. I agree that 2014 was beautiful and seemed like poetic justice, but the loss in 2013 (games 6 and 7) is still tough.
