Chris Haynes reported Friday that Boston is looking to move out at least one of its guards to ease a backcourt logjam. Word is the most likely of the group to be dealt, entering the weekend, was Malcolm Brogdon rather than Smart, White or Pritchard.

Love what Brogdon did for us this last year, but we desperately need frontcourt help.

If you move Brogdon you better be damn sure you’re getting a big who can play in the playoffs.

If they salary dump Brogdon for regular season bigs while our contenders fight for beal it’ll be worst case scenario.

I bought a Brogdon Jersey on may 15th, it came June 14th. My life fucking sucks

Okay the big question is who do we get for him?

  5. InAingeWeTrust

As expected. He’d definitely be the odd man out between Smart and White.

Makes the most sense, strictly because Brogdon and JB was one of the worst fits ever in terms of +/- I’ve seen for any 2 man combo.

And if Brogdon can’t play with our best players (he was an incredible luxury to have for when one of them was sucking), then it doesn’t really make much sense to have him.

He doesn’t do anything to make the Jays better, he’s an insurance policy for when they’re not scoring well.

We need players who are additive to the Jays. We already have 5 really good ones IMO with White Rob Smart Al and Hauser.

On a smaller scale I would throw Pritchard and Muscala in there as well.

But ideally we could get a big who could actually score and punish smalls so teams like Miami and Golden State can’t go super small against us.

Need a bench wing or another big for sure. With the logjam of guards we have it makes the most sense. Brogdon is simply the best asset we have that hurts the least to lose.

I just don’t know who we can target to fill that hole. Naz Reid is an interesting player for sure, Minny is in need of a guard IIRC. Just don’t know if Reid matches our needs well enough.

I love Bruce Brown but getting him is not feasible not our biggest need.

Of course Brad will make a move nobody foresaw that makes good sense. I trust in the FO to make the right decision.

I get it, smart is still younger and a better defender but I really liked Malcolm. 😔

  9. hpantazo

    Wait, we’re seriously keeping Pritchard?

  10. stomach-bug

Loved Brogdon this year. I’ll always appreciate what he did for us. If its time to move on, hopefully he gets a starting spot on another team

I really don’t like it tbh but I understand why.

Just hope we get something good in return or decent since we will be losing a big part of our depth. Him being hurt in such a weird way really fucked us. I know we had other issues and shit, but if Malcom is playing like he does…that is a difference maker.

    Not surprised!

Smart and White are on team-friendly deals, and Pritchard is going to be way cheaper to keep than Brogdon; plus trading Brogdon is likely going to get a better frontcourt player than Pritchard would

  13. wannabe_eunuch

Will Gallinari produce at a rate to effectively replace Brogdon?

  14. Angelic_Phoenix

If Bruce Brown wants a bigger contract elsewhere I think Prichard could run Denver’s second unit really well

  15. poeticchaos_

I like Malcolm. But, I’ll just wait until Brad actually does something lol

  16. siberianunderlord

Completely possible that Brogdon’s knees don’t hold up as well next year. Wouldn’t like to see him dealt, but it would make sense. Would trading Brogdon preclude a Pritchard trade?

  17. BradWonder

We’re definitely going to miss his shooting if he’s traded.

  18. I’ve just been trying to come up with ideas for trades involving him.

Hoping for a Clippers trade (Powell, RoCo)

    Mavs (Betans?)

Hornets (Hayward for Brogdon and maybe Gallo?)

    Pistons (Bojan?)

    Magic (Issac?)

    Jazz (Olynyk and Rudy Gay?)

    Lakers (Beasley?)

  19. ekydfejj

Brogdon is the most valuable of the group by far, and i’m not counting Smart, b/c he’s not getting traded….hopefully ever.

Also i love Brogdon and would love to see him remain a Celtic, but…..

  20. JaylenBrownFlow

derrick whites play made brogdon moveable

    love the buffalo

  21. TheGreatForehead

This is so dumb lol and people wonder why players hate Boston.

  22. Perks508

Why tf would they trade the 6th man of the year who held down the bench and not the defensive liability in Pritchard who wants out?

  23. mitchsix

The fuck. Pritchard doesn’t even want to be here, trade him and keep the Brogdon/White/Gallinari tro off the bench
