Gasol was super washed by the time he got to Toronto but he could still effectively defend the paint and be a threat to shoot the 3 and stretch the floor taking away the other teams big from the paint so Kawhi and especially Siakam could eat inside. JV could do neither but rebound and score inside clogging up the paint area like crazy. Jacob wasn't close to being ready and can't still shoot 4 years later. Great trade.
