Ryen Russillo/Bill Simmons on Zion Williamson: “They played a NBA player trivia video during a break and asked Zion what his favorite road trips were. His answers were Houston and Atlanta”

Starts off with Simmons proposing Rockets trade Jalen Green, the 4th pick, and two Nets picks for Zion, then sign Harden. Both said it’d be amazing for Houston restaurants and service industries

>Russillo: They said there’s an in-game video during the break, like where you know they ask NBA players trivia questions like “who’s the best team at this” and “who’s the worst”. I’ve been told there’s one of Zion where he’s asked about his favorite road trip and he goes Houston and Atlanta

>Simmons: Ok, so he’d be happy

>Russillo: Yes, so he’d be happy but the part of the Zion/Pelicans thing is that despite how frustrating he is; he’s their star.

Don’t let Zion team up with Harden in Houston

  2. Hmm I wonder why 🤔

Dude should go to Utah so he can focus on ball.

  3. GringoMambi

This whole Zion situation just shows that’s Harden should have a camp for pro’s like Olajuwon. But instead of teaching basketball fundamentals, how to be a world class deviant without putting it full blast on social media and having side chicks that don’t talk lmao

  4. fireglz

Man, the Hawks would sure be exciting for 5 games every year with Zion and Trae. Miserable idea though.

  5. AleroRatking

What’s a Houston trade? I guess just picks galore?

  6. yerr2477

damn. that man lives and dies for the ass.

  7. Legitimate_Secret_79

cities with large supply of waffle houses

  8. MitchLGC

You’d get that answer from a lot of players in the NBA

  9. EGarrett

Sounds like 5-D Chess to make sure Zion doesn’t pay off for his next team.

  10. QuantumFreakonomics

Houston and Atlanta are the two closest big cities to New Orleans…

  11. Smok3dSalmon

Pelicans probably: “It is with a *heavy* heart that we announce Zion Williamson has been traded to the Houston Rockets.”

  12. cepxico

Doesn’t matter where he lands if he continues to not take this shit seriously. Hopefully a change of scenery gets him in gear.b

  13. HereComesJustice

Hey ijs taking a road trip vs living somewhere are 2 different scenarios

  14. nolablue1024

Are there any clips of JJ or CJ commenting on zion from a former/current teammate perspective since the baby mama drama?

  15. blacksoxing

The implication is those are two cities with an abundance of attractive women and strip clubs…but the underbelly is that these are also two very minority-based cities that are rich in history and slow-paced compared to the Miami/New York/LAs of the world. They’re also easy to travel to.

I hate how in NBA context these are just “har-dee-har-har black strip club cities” when a place like Portland I believe easily outnumbers it….but we all know the demographics so it somehow doesn’t match the narrative.

You ask me where my favorite trips are and Atlanta would get named too! From the fashion to the culture….wonderful place to camp for a few days and dip.

Wouldn’t like half of the NBA say the same thing? Feel like that’s kind of a stereotype.

  17. htownballa1

Bills a dumbass and trading green and/or the 4th pick would be the dumbest move in rockets history.

  18. Outland3r_

Zion also said his favorite cities were:

“Toronto, New York, and Dallas. Dallas is amazing, don’t care what nobody tell you, it’s amazing. I don’t wanna be there, but it’s amazing.”

    Houston: Zion
    Pels: #3 + X
Nets: #4 + Simons + 1-2 of their own picks from Houston
    Blazers: Bridges + Claxton + X

    Add filler/picks as needed. haha

  20. Nfinit_V

They are gonna break this poor kid’s heart if they trade him to Charlotte.

  21. Livid-Book-1784

That took a turn I wasn’t expecting, but okay.

  22. brendon_b

Why would you ask your player that? “What teams should try to poach you in the offseason?”

  23. marquesasrob

John collins you are a Pelican!! Bogdan Bogdanovic you are a Pelican!! 15th overall pick you are a pelican!!! Shit, Dejounte Murray, you are a Pelican!! CA CAW CA CAW

it would never happen but a man can dream

  24. theswirlyeyedsamurai

I would have thought Miami is full of his type.

  25. Big_Boss_1000

I thought it was because it’s the least amount of travel time

  26. HibachiTyme

Brandon Ingram put up like 27, 7, 6 on almost 50/40/90 post all-star break as a 25 year old but he’s not the Pelicans star and is not top 40 in trade value according to these two

  27. EdwardJamesAlmost

Zion & Harden are brought to you by the Hillstone Group

  28. count-the-churros

Simmons must have hit the second apron of his spotify deal because he’s in peak form.

  29. hockeydavid97

Zion for jc straight up who says no. I mean probably the peak front office but maybe they had what the wizards fo was taking

  30. CJ4ROCKET

Didn’t he just say last season that Dallas is his favorite city tho? Dude is a weirdo.

  31. chapoktt

Pretty sure he said Dallas was his favorite

  32. RGPISGOOD

tbh our front office has been constantly been in Zion rumors since like 2 weeks ago and Tilman said he’s tired of losing so I would not be surprised if we trade one of our top rookies + #4 for him before the draft.

That said, I just don’t think Zion will ever see the floor because he just doesn’t have the discipline it requires to keep himself healthy.

  33. shahsnow

He actually loves Dallas the most per insider Pelicans video, so this means nothing

  34. SpliffsnKicks

Ime on a mission to clap moriah mills cheeks expeditiously next season

  35. tommyboy0208

Houston is legit. Have lived here since 2017. Great food, diverse and cool vibe.

  36. thepobv

    Hey guys, I’m 8 years old… I think I’m missing something here.

What is everyone in the thread talking about? Is it really waffle houses?

  37. Buckus93

My personal opinion? Zion’s cooked. He can’t handle the NBA schedule without injuring himself. The Pels might have to just wait out the the rest of his contract or buy him out, but Zion will never carry a team in the NBA.

I hope I’m wrong, because when he’s on the court, he’s spectacular. But he’s too injury prone and doesn’t seem to actually want to stay on the court.
