As expected, but uncharted territory. Bet he stays.

  2. JocularMango

As expected. Pay Dray and let’s be done with it.

  3. Jesuisunetchoin

Nobody is giving him more so I’d think he takes a paycut, at least I hope lol

  4. BUUAHAHAHA

Not surprising at all. I’d be shocked if another team offers Dray more than what Warriors would want to offer.

I agree we should bring hi back, but at what salary and for how long. The max we’re ALLOWED to pay him is too much for a 4-year deal IMO, and I’m guessing other teams will not give him the max for a multiyear deal.

Creates uncertainty as we consider draft picks and trade options, though 🙁

  6. nbaaccountobserver

Obviously he’s going to opt out but at this point warriors are really at the mercy of if Dray accepts the contract or not. If we lose his salary slot we can’t fill it with a free agent above the vet min. The front office has a lot of trust in Dray to re-sign.

    NA NA NA-NAHH
    HEY HEY HEY
    GOOD BYE

Draymond is going to get bitchslapped by reality when he’s on a team without Steph. All you idiots are going to see how garbage he really is. “But he’s a QB on offense” LMAOOOO

EDIT: Woooo boy did I hit the saltmine lmao. It’s okay, even though you guys are dumbass fans, you’re still warriors fans and I assure you getting rid of this human tumor is the best move we can make this summer. I can’t wait to see his ass go to the lakers and get eaten alive by their fans when he punches Reaves and is unplayable on offense

to those who say they want Draymond gone, it’s clear who understands how much our success depends on this man.

  9. FeelTheRealBirdie

All the deluded laker fans thinking hes gonna take a massive pay cut just to play with lebron lmao

  10. thecommuteguy

This wasn’t unexpected, doubt he leaves as we’ll offer him a long-term deal.

  11. s_malik25

Bring back Dray, get Poole out of here, and I’ll be happy this offseason

  12. Dynasty_30

    This was expected

Hopefully nobody gives him a huge bag and we can keep him on a discount

  13. Top_Arm_7544

i can’t see the team win a chip without him

  14. 3/75 to line up with Curry’s contract. If he wants more than 25 a year, c ya!

  15. winstonsmith8236

If those quotes were true and he’s declining….good riddance then. We can study his tape, not like he’s quiet about his strategies— he can’t be replaced but he can be approximated

  16. Aiwaszz

He will get more money but stretched over more years imho

  17. dennis_k_g

They really dropped this news on Jordan Poole’s birthday huh? 😭😂

  18. spastichabits

I think at the end of the day, Draymond is more valuable to the warriors than he is to any other organisation. I don’t see him getting an offer we’re not willing to match.

  19. MachiavelliSJ

This means he will get more than $27.5 million, which is not great news

  20. Ch8me1e0n

was expected but I still hope he stays

but if he goes he should get that money

  21. Inevitable-Ad-4192

I love Dray but it’s probably best for him to move along because 1. Better a year to early than a year to late. 2. Time to focus more on the young core, that won’t happen with Green on the team and Klay insisting on starting.

  22. StanLay281

Hoping he takes a team friendly 3/80M deal

  23. Mo0d123

no shot he wanting more money right? I wouldve thought he might prioritizes winning i might be wrong though

  24. sirckoe

Draymon to the suns! Or portland. I could see either team getting a ring with him on the roaster

  25. Wakandaforever456

Bob Myers left just when the ship was about to sink.

  26. Mundane_Leopard_3974

He could sign for a team like clippers who would you need a ball handling play maker who can play elite defense

  27. Sh4d0wM00N

Declining $27.5M to get lower pay but stay Dubs ?

  28. OfficeCharacterCreed

You better stay draymon, well your choice but I’d be sad and it wouldn’t be the same.

  29. Mental_Balance429

He’s not a max dude on another team

  30. spicyclams

I’m surprised. The cynic in me says his selfishness will get the best of him, and he will take the highest offer. That likely won’t be from the warriors unless Poole gets traded for minimum contracts back.

I dont want to come off as a casual here and I’ve seen all the stuff about how if we lose Dray we lose any title hopes for the rest of this run. Am I crazy to say offense is way more important to winning in todays NBA then it was in like 2017?

I mean the Nuggets just won and I wouldn’t say they’re necessarily a defensive juggernaut.Dray just limits lineup combos being a 0 scoring threat.

And Steph wants him back so this is probably pointless. But ImO he just limits the team offensively. Yes him and Steph have chemistry in that regard. But on the other hand Steph always has to deal with at least 1 extra roaming defensive player who will act like Dray isn’t even on the court.

Idk what I’m trying to say. I guess Its that in 2017 his defense was so elite it out weighed any of his offensive issues. At his age now with the back injury and shit I just don’t know if that’s the case anymore.

Going 7 with the Kings doesn’t scream to me that Dray still has it at an elite defensive level. Losing to the Lakers 4-1 with AD going off the way he did didn’t make me any more confident in that regard. If Dray was still peak defensive Dray I think both of those series play out differently.

And if he walks as far as I know that doesn’t really open up much cap space due to already being over. But I’m no cap expert. Would a sign and trade for somebody like Porzingis be the only real option to retain his cap space?

I’m sort of 50/50. If he stays , awesome I get to see the core continue to fight for a WCFs appearance after narrowly avoiding the play in going forward. If he’s sign and traded or the FO pulls of some magic to get a floor spacing rim protector I also wouldn’t be mad. My main concern is him walking for nothing, still being above the cap and having no way to replace any of what he brings.

Mike better not fucked this up! I don’t care he just took over… This is what he signed up for and he’s known for a year now DayDay/Klay have been seeking extensions. If he needs to, get Bob off the couch until he’s locked Dray down.
