If he’s asking that question for real, the answer is no.

We don’t even have a true second star.

I love D White but he’s no third star. The third star doesn’t need to be a borderline all star player and I think the Celtics need that similarly to a Jrue Holiday caliber player to lessen the load for the Jays

    Lmaooooo come on now.

Forsberg is a fucking clown. And no this isn’t a shot at Derrick White

I would like our offense run on either JT or DWhite from now on. DWhite was the man game 6 and 7.

The word star is pretty subjective. Derrick white is a helluva player, I’ll take him as our starting PG over Smart 10 times out of 10

I’m disappointed it wasn’t more Rob propaganda from Forsberg. This is the first time he’s had a full offseason that he’s not rehabbing an injury in forever. The 2020 offseason was short after the bubble, he had the turf toe in 2021 and obviously had knee surgery last year. He might not ever get back to jumping out of the gym like he did in his early 20s (He might not have even without the injuries) but I think there’s still a lot of upside there with Rob.

I do genuinely believe that if Derrick White is a confident 38%+ three point shooter, he’s a fringe all star. I was making the argument last offseason that I thought his shooting could bounce back after a down year but I’m now a little cautious that last year was a high water mark and he could revert back to more of his career norms of ~35%. Still a great player, but it would hurt his “star” chances

I remember seeing the Brogdon/Brown numbers after All Star weekend, and they were brutal.

A 3 star system is dead on arrival in this version of the NBA anyway. Having a well constructed 5 at all times on the floor is what’s important.

I don’t think this team needs a 3rd star. I think they could re-shape the bench offense to be built a little less on Jaylen stepping into the role Tatum usually occupies. I’d like to see Jaylen focus more on off ball movement and have Smart, Brogdon, and White do most of the initiating with Jaylen and Rob as finishers and other guys (Horford, Grant, Hauser, Gallo, etc…) who can space the floor.

A little more of that and I believe the offense would flow better and we could take advantage of two elite finishers and the very good playmaking guards we have.

I think we need to trade the jays and build around Dwhite

If White plays like a fringe All-Star, and Tatum plays like an MVP, if we get Rob at 90% the team as currently constructed is good enough to win

MVP Tatum, All-Star Brown, fringe All-Star White, plus Rob, Smart, Horford and Brogdon as your 3-7? That’s a championship caliber team. Not even considering Grant, Pritchard, Gallo, Hauser and whatever we could replace them with as some sort of upgrade for an 8th guy

If the team makes that kind of developments and plays like that in the playoffs, we’re hanging banner 18. Huge ask though and still somewhat rolling the dice.

The problem is when Tatum is inconsistent, Brown plays below average, and we have a couple other guys injured. It’s gotta all come together to happen.

I will say, White’s ability as a ball handler/ scorer in the playoffs was super impressive. Would love to see more point guard minutes where he’s running Pick n Roll with Rob

We have plenty of 3rd stars.. including Jaylen Brown.. we’re missing the 2nd star behind JT..

  14. used09jetta

Thinking Derrick White is a star similar to Beal is fucking crazy

  15. Plastic_Database_645

    **Dee_Jays** trio has arrived!

  16. FattyTwoSox

Derrick White is a goddamn all star caliber player you will all see

  17. murph3699

The Celtics, any many in this sub, think Smart is the 3rd star.

Owners scared about the luxury tax, I doubt it but finger cross
