Huge Warriors fan and huge Jayhawks fan here. So I’ve seen a lot of Grady Dick. These are my personal observations from watching every Jayhawks game this year.
Upside — He’s definitely promising. When he can find open shots, he’s money. His shot is mechanically perfect and his release is high and lightning fast. He works hard on defense and has above average foot speed (in addition to very solid instincts and a ball-hawking mindset). Crashes glass well for a guard.
Downside — He has a lot of work to do on his handles and shot creation. If he doesn’t get the ball in rhythm, he’s not been particularly effective. He can disappear in the corner for long stretches.
Overall — He could slot into our lineup almost immediately as a bench 3 and D contributor. We’d be lucky to get him.
Edit to include a wildly speculative prognosis — A faster, longer 19 year old Klay Thompson.
Another edit to add: This guy is NOT Austin Reeves. His driving instinct isn’t there yet, especially through contact. If he matures that particular skill, he has the potential to be way better than Reeves.

I think Dick offers us some nice length and size as well as being an excellent outside finisher who has some sneaky penetration. I think Dick will make our guys better overall

No way he’s available at pick #19, it would require the warriors to trade up to get him. He’s a top 14 lock, in my opinion. He’s a money three point shooter who’s 6’8; that’s enough to ensure he has a long NBA career. Gradey Dick is the kind of player who’s value increases the closer you get to the draft.

I’ve seen this possibility floating around with the rise of other players in the big boards.
Overall I think Dick would be a great locker room presence, I think the vets would be satisfied with having Dick on the team on a nightly basis.
I foresee a young duo of Dick and Kuminga being crazy explosive. It’d make the Warriors a hub for talented vets to ring chase.

ESPN projects Brandin Podziemski, who makes a ton of sense because he could potentially fill some of Donte’s role.
One day, we’ll wish the Warriors drafted Dariq Whitehead, who I think will be by far the best NBA player who will be available when the Warriors pick. But likely not as a rookie.
