Unless he has a Walker Kessler type rookie season the pick would be wasted on a rookie center. I would prefer to trade the pick for a center.

Good. We need someone to guard Jokic so AD can be free to help

Maybe pre-Combine and before his workout day, there was a chance. Not now.

Centers usually take some time to develop in this league

Would love to get him but idt he’s there at 17

Also, the first line suggests 17 will be moved. Wonder with what / for what?

Buha is the only one reporting it’s likely we move down however I think we can read some signs and see they’ve worked out some guys more towards the end of the 1st, early 2nd.

If we can turn this pick into 2 1sts or a late 1st, early 2nd, and a future asset it could be a big win. There’s a number of really decent prospects later on in the draft that can help now and still project as a long term player.

I don’t follow draft prospects too much but this description makes him sound like a great fit with AD. But even if a guy like this is available, I think I still rather trade 17 with Bamba or Beasley to get a win-now wing or big.

  8. I would love it but don’t see it happening. Good thing is someone good is almost guaranteed to fall to us.

I’m getting flashbacks of Robert Upshaw. He was supposed to be our DPOY of the future 😭

I wonder what Robert Upshaw is doing these days

He won’t be on the board at 17 but if he is that’s who they should take.

  12. YoungBasedHooper

We should keep the pick and get him. Fuck it. None of the proposals I’ve seen sound better than Lively’s immediate impact + his potential

really hope we keep the pick, or do the 2 for 1 swap with Pacers, this draft is too deep and we can possibly get a rotation player on a rookie contract

  14. Rentfreelakerfan

    They aren’t trading that pick

  15. KingNephew

I’d be happy to get Lively if he falls that far. If they want a center, best of both worlds would be trading down with Nets and getting a role player and the 21st to draft James Nnaji.

I feel like this is a smokescreen for someone else to take Lively and someone else falling to the Lakers.

Regardless of what happens, this is a kind of player we need. A big that can do all this and help take some pressure off Davis at the 5.

So rare for 19-20 year old big men to contribute meaningfully. Would really rather get a guy who we can play right away

Would love it. Dude was the number 2 player in the country coming out of high school which was only a year ago. Just imagine what he could become learning from AD every day
