The jazz are showing all non-nationally televised games for free on a local station and providing a direct to consumer subscription for internet streaming with all access broadcast and behind the scenes footage. Blazers should learn from this.

I would love this. When ROOT Sports left YouTube TV so did my ability to watch a lot of Blazers games. I feel like I was able to watch Dame and co. 5 times this past season.

I’m really curious to see if the NBA finally makes NBA League Pass an all inclusive streaming service with no blackouts. It’s absolutely ridiculous that you can’t use it to watch your local team live or any nationally broadcast game or playoff game live.

Rumor is that part of the reason that some NBA teams like the Blazers include a League Pass subscription with season tickets is to inflate the subscriber numbers for future bargaining leverage. They can then turn around and partner with a streaming player like Apple/Amazon/Netflix/etc and point to that larger subscriber base when negotiating.

I’m hoping that this happens some day, while also retaining each team’s local broadcasting crew, as having your home announcers, both TV and radio, makes watching the game a little more special.

The Suns are doing something similar. I’m glad to see some momentum in this direction.

I would renounce the Jolly Roger if the Blazers actually offered a direct to consumer subscription at a reasonable price.

Oh hell yes. Make the blazers more apart of our civic pride.
