If Wemby is willing to work and willing to be better and be a good teammate, Pop and the Holt family will give him the support and protection from the media he needs to be the absolutely best version of himself as a player.
I can imagine Pop, getting mad at the NBA, saying," why is he wasting all this time talking to people. I want him in the weight room and in the gym, conditioning?"
For all the excitement the guys are talking about, remember the Spurs are notoriously lowkey with its players. How many times did you ever see Spurs in commercials outside of regional H-E-B commercials? Coach Pop isn't going to want him distracted by the attention.
Outside of Tim's first couple years in the league, how often was TD in commercial campaigns? Rarely if ever. Wemby will be encouraged to do the same. There's going to be a behind the scene tug of war between the league and the Spurs.
The Austin and San Antonio market combined will be a top 10 media market in the US
The business’s/sponsors ready to give Victor all Ja’s money.
Us Spurs have always been international player friendly. Hope you enjoy Tex-Mex Bro!
Tim Duncan moment/feel all over again
I hope he doesn't have lower body issues like most big men with his movement get.
Foreign players more humble less ego chains flow better for the nba
He'll be compared to Duncan.
Interesting.
