Trade idea for the 3rd pick

There is a few advantages (for both teams) to this trade
Jazz
1. Opens more cap space
2. It seems that the hornets will take Brandon Miller so that means we can get Scott who can replace Collin Sexton and accelerate the rebuild process

Trailblazers
1. Collin Sexton is a good trade asset and a above average player who can help dame
2. At the 9th and 16th pick is a possibility to draft a good shooter who can help dame or be good trade assets

I believe that this trade is fair for both sides, lmk your thoughts on this.

Nah, Portland doesn’t want Sexton. They already have Dame, Simons, and Sharpe. They’re wanting a guy like Brandon Ingram for #3.

yeah, this doesn’t happen. Sexton isn’t really a boost to their team and they aren’t looking for more picks. They need a headliner and some quality role players. We can’t really offer those unless we are willing to part with Lauri, which we shouldn’t.

Portland is looking for nothing less than a 1st/2nd option veteran to win a championship. They say no.

The only way we get the third pick is if Lauri is going to Portland, and we’re not doing that

If they weren’t looking for an all star vet for the pick it might be possible in other years or a different situation. Usually that could be plenty to move up. But this draft is different. It would have been nice for the Jazz to do well in a lotto just one time.
