Brad is very trigger happy in term of making trades. He seems to be very active on the trade market since he become the GM

Boston got a pretty good deal, no? On paper I guess. Looks like the got rid of some guys as well in Gallinari and Muscala

Looking like teams are really valuing players with multiple years especially with the new CBA, Smart is on a great contract for another 3 years, amazing value. People always say OG on a great contact but that will change after this season, same with Siakam who will have a crazy contract after this year
theorganicpotatoes
the difference is stevens actually made the trade. masai just twiddled his thumbs
UjiriWatcher
We’ll he doesn’t wait till his players are in the last year of their contracts to trade them
fredvancleef
I applaud brad for being active and continually tinkering with the roster even when his team is consistently reaching the peak. Last three years they’ve had a finals appearance and two ECF exits and they’ve been consistently active in trades and acquiring really good players. Last three years for us has been on the bad side of mediocre and all Masai seems to want to do is run it back.

3 years left vs 1 year left just shows masai holds onto his players too long marcus smart was the heart and soul of the celtics but still made the trade
Ma_Pies
If it was leaked that Stevens wanted Porzingis and 2 FRPs for Smart, I think people would say he’s demanding.
It’s a fair trade imo but this could backfire the Celtics if they don’t draft at least one rotational player with these picks.

Celtics have a championship window and are trying to get over the hump to win a championship. Making big roster moves is expected.
This current Raps roster is going nowhere and even a fool can see that we need a rebuild. Of course people are going to view Masai differently when he’s threatening Raptors fans and the rest of the league with running this bum ass core back again and again until he gets a deal that he likes
legolasMightBeADog
Trade DPOY for 2022 who is on a team friendly contract and is the heart and the soul of the team for Porzingis, who is a huge injury risk (3 seasons with 60+ games), overpriced and will want an extension or he walks after the season.
Also your starting PG is Brogdon (another huge injury risk) or White.
Are we sure this is a good trade for Boston?
ColdDarkSpace
if masai was the president for the lakers westbrook would still be on the team and he would try to run it back
centerofstar
Excellent point, fans are way too impatient with their gms making trades
WobbleKun
it just hit me.. what if masai is on the chopping block and that’s part of why Tanenbaum is selling now cause he doesn’t want to be apart of the fireworks when it goes down.
