Boston turned one of their 3 guards into a shot blocking 3pt shooting center and 2 firsts.
Memphis turned the best backup pg that lead them to wins with ja out in the past into a questionable shooter that can’t create for others. As good a swap as they could hope since tyus asked out, and he’ll replace brooks defense, but not as good as Boston

C’s and it’s not close. Smart is a full blown lability late in games. C’s immediately improve just with removing him. Then they get an elite post scorer and good pnr defender in Zing who opts in for no reason. C’s can move on no problem if it doesn’t work out and got 2 firsts still. Grizz got finessed.

Memphis got a player who was born for that grit and grind style. Plus he knows about winning and atleast pushing forward and reaching a finals. He elevates Ja on the court and they probably hope off the court.
Boston part heavily relies on if KP can buy in, but he fits in nicely as far as strengths.
Curious if they send one of the picks to the Wizards. Otherwise they need to start getting back more draft capital. Wiz should try and get every future pick they can

Porzingis is the better player and he’s only 27. Porzingis will get easier looks with Tatum and Brown there. I think this trade makes the Celtics the favorite out of the east.

I don’t see how this is a good trade for Memphis at all. They traded Tyus Jones and two first round picks for Marcus Smart. He is not worth two first rounders, and is only a little better than Tyus Jones.
