13 of their 17 wanted segregated fountains.

  2. It’s absolutely insane how hard everybody milks the 2008 ring lol. They created the first modern superteam just to go 1-2 in the finals against Kobe at the end of his prime, somehow tricking the world into thinking Doc Rivers is a great coach along the way

Celtics have 1 title since The Simpsons aired. 1 title since the Berlin Wall fell. Last time Celtics won before 2008, Chernobyl was happening and Top Gun was the movie of the year. 1 ring in 37 years, especially with some of those years before the 30-team era, is literally bad

edit: 1-1 in the finals against Kobe, didn’t even make it in 2009

More like the 90’s braves without the ring

  4. catsandpizzafuckyou

This sub makes us come off as pretty insecure about the Celtics lol. Who cares?

  5. TheWizardOfDeez

The funniest part is that the Cowboys have been more successful that the Celtics in the same time frame 🤣

  6. Cubacane

But they won 8 in a row when there was like 7 other teams, NBA champ was first to ten wins, and everyone had a day job!

  7. SpotLightGuy

They make splashy moves that piss off our fans every offseason then we beat their ass in the playoffs. Tale as old as time.

  8. MrBiggleswerth

But how many quarters have they won during that time 🤔

  9. SirFunktastic

People talk about what amazing moves the Celtics made and how they’re so much better than everyone else but the Heat have more finals appearances and playoff success over the last several years. Just saying.

The perk of being the hometown team for ESPN

  11. RotaryP7

Nah. I’m a Cowboys fan. Don’t compare them to us.

I think the biggest benefactor of the 08 chip has to be Doc. I know the man can nail on interview, but he should be coaching the Junior Shanghai Sharks

  13. DrManhattan_DDM

3 rings in 7 finals appearances over 17 years sounds a lot more elite, but that’s just me 🤷‍♂️

Winning a championship is incredibly hard. Celtics have done well for a long time, as an organization they deserve props.

If anyone thinks the Celtics are a better org than the Heat, Spurs, Warriors then I think it’s a bit unwarranted. But they’re comfortably a top 5 franchise imo (for the more modern era/last few decades)

Paul Pierce is a joke he once faked hurt needed a wheelchair just because he had to crap

As a Celtics fan I would say they are more like the Packers they are a heritage team. They are an original NBA team and were early winners. Also they are tied for most titles. They have prestige for those reasons along with being relatively successful in the past decade.

Celtics fans in their sub today: “I can’t believe we traded Marcus Smart the heart and soul of the team” “it’s okay guys I trust brad to do something with the first round picks”

Miami heat fans in their sub today:

  18. TomTheNurse

Since the Heat joined the NBA in 88 they have 7 appearances in the finals with 3 titles. During that same time the Celtics have 3 appearances in the finals with 1 title.

    🤣🤣🤣

The thing that kills me about the Celtics is that their first dynasty was pretty much only possible because Bill Russell was the best player of that entire era, in fact without him I don’t think they win even one ring and I mean that.

Here’s the thing though, Russell fucking hated Boston. Cause they treated him like garbage, even to the point of breaking into his home and trashing everything cause he was black. So this is probably not the most rational take, but I honestly wonder if given the chance he would have transferred all those titles to another team out of spite.

The only reason Russell’s team mates are hall of famers is because they played with him, their talent level was equal to other contending teams when you do not factor in Russell’s effect. There are quotes from Russell where he directly states that basketball is just a game, and that there are more important things. Like civil rights, which is why I think my take makes perfect sense.

To me, there is a dark stain on the Boston Celtics legacy that makes it to where anytime they talk about beating the Lakers or finally becoming a dynasty or whatever like it’s their fucking destiny or some shit I just have to laugh.

In all of Miami Heat’s existence, Boston Celtics has managed to grab only 1 championship? Interesting. (This tweet actually made me search how old the franchise Heat is lol)

  21. NothingbutNetiPot

Maybe they haven’t won rings but they’re making runs to the conference finals and finals. The Cowboys haven’t made it to the conference championship game since the 90s.

  22. EveryExhalation

Celts have at least been in a few conference finals. Dallas can’t win a playoff game…

  23. HonkedOffJohn

Don’t forget the whole town is mega racist. Thank god Caleb Martin defeated racism in Game 7.

  24. poppinfresco

So some quick math cause I know most of you are from Florida.

2023-1988(Heat founded) = 35/3 (number of Heat titles = 11.66 the Heat have won an average of one title per 11-12 NBA seasons.

2023-1946(Celtics founded) = 77/17 (number of Celtics titles) = 4.5 the Celtics have won an average of one title per 4-5 years.

“But in the last 37 YeaRs!”

Ok, your entire history before LeBron James……..
