You mentioned Jett can shoot the lights out. This sounds like another 6’8” player who could shoot the lights out but wasn’t known for playing good defense. That player being Dennis Scott.

Huge Razorbacks and Magic fan. Magic got a good one. Black became my favorite player to watch last year for the Hogs. Eric Musselman hardly ever gives a freshman the playing time he gave Black. I suspect his shooting will come around with reps as his form is actually really solid.
Horrible organization down here in Orlando. They should have took Dick and Hendricks. Jett can’t defend or dribble. Black is a bad pick. Black is good but he doesn’t fit
The Magic have to add a vet or two in free agency or via trade in order to make a leap toward the playoffs in 2024. The good part is they have several players on rookie contracts. Those are most desired by any franchise looking to shed salary.
That team is so close. They can go from 34 wins to 44 wins with the right leadership, and unless Anthony Black is a franchise-changing talent management should do all they can to find an experienced leader who knows the NBA game.
I was initially upset with the Anthony Black pick, because i thought it meant we were going to take Gradey Dick. But the selection of Jett howard made me extremely happy because we got a guy who can CREATE Three point shots opposed to having Gradey who requires a spot up situation. Jett will crack the rotation and provide us somewhere between 12.5-16ppg and 2.3 3pm this season at 6'8"…IN WELTMAN WE TRUST
I don't understand the negative reactions to this draft. I am so happy we didn't end up with a Thompson twin and Gradey Dick.
Does Black need to improve his 3? Yes, that's fine good basketball players get better. Everything I've seen shows that he is already an elite defender and solid playmaker.
Jett Howard is the sharp shooter we were looking for at 6'8" gives even more size at the guard position.
I feel sorry for Paolo now. It’s going to be tough for him to do what he does with THREE non shooters on the floor at the same time. Black is going to be a bust, he has no elevation on his slow jump shot at all.

I saw tape of Black in the off-season shooting with Steph curry’s trainer his shoot looked good… Jetts footwork and shooting ability reminds me of Carmelo. Best case scenario is we got Josh Giddey with more defense from Black and a Bane/Carmelo esk type from Howard

Im still dealing with this let down. We could of had Taylor Hendricks, grady dick both where they went in draft. Or even jordan Hawkins at least..im just Not excited as much as i try to accept and deal with it.

What we wanted out of this draft was a player that could slot in to a position of need and help us make that playoff push, regardless of whether or not they are the best available. Yes we got a shooter which we needed, but we also took ANOTHER point guard which adds more complexity and questions for what we are going to do at our overloaded position at point guard, when all of us magic fans just want a sense of certainty there. The backlash isn't due to the quality of both players at drafted, which doubtless are both quality guys to bring into any franchise, but the fact that for these two players in particular, we just gave ourselves more problems to solve with our roster when ultimately we just wanted to get easy plug-in guys that keep it simple and build off of what good growth we had last year.
Really don’t understand why people think we’re so loaded at the guard position. In theory yeah we have a lot of guards, but none of them can play more than 60 games in a season. We’ll trade away Cole, Markelle will get hurt and then everyone will be like “we need more guard depth!”

look, in regards to whitmore, i would of shut the !#$% up if they traded cole or non suggs/fultz type guard to grab him. isaac +whitmore + suggs + whatever guard not starting out of black and jett.
Fact of the matter is took a SG and PG which suggs is a pg to me and fultz is a pg. 3 rotation pg for #6 does not make sense.
I trust this Front office way more then the previous one. However, the Black pick means either he's going to be a bust or Suggs won't be on the Magic within 2 years. Can't afford to have two non shooters from range these days. "Oh but Black is young, he can develop his jumpshot still". Maybe but a 70% FT is extremely concerning if you're betting on shooting improvement. As for Howard, let's hope his rise to 11th pick isnt mainly down to nepotism. I liked his interviews so far and he can obviously shoot. Still a little disappointed that Orlando didn't trade down a bit and still get him (especially given that Weltman himself said they could have traded to almost anywhere in this draft.) Overall, it was a tough draft for the Magic. They needed shooting and a backup big…. The two things that were in short supply in this class.
Once again, the Magic doing unMagical things. SMDH. Next draft they pick another PH. And the next draft after that. I mean that's all they do. #PGfetish.

I definitely trust the front office but I want to put into perspective that the Hornets pick a person that was involved in a killing by being in wrong place or not and rest of the league let a possible 4 pick slip to 20 because he’s not mature enough? Bull S in my opinion including the Magic who could have picked him at 6 either their is something else or they make a huge mistake. Will see❤
