  1. What an absolutely excellent trade! There are so many positives to trading Poole:

    1) The Warriors are released from Poole's abysmal contract [way~~ overvalued] that kicks in next season. 2) They get rid of a player that isn't yet mature enough for a championship team. 3) Joe Lacob saves $150M in luxury tax and escapes the limitations set by the new CBA agreement. 4) Draymond [an essential Warriors member] remains as one of the core 3. 5) The trade sends a stark message to all the young players to "play their role, or get traded". 6) Chris Paul is everything that Poole isn't— [a stellar playmaker; High IQ; an All-Time Assist Leader; listens & is coachable; can and does defend; and knows when, and when not to, shoot; doesn't throw games when upset…instead, buckles down and plays wiser; and vastly improves the Warriors post-season chances since Curry can rest without having a teammate hauling up 30+ ft 3-PTRs. 7) Lastly, the Warriors chemistry immediately improves, also improving their away-game win potential.

Edit: Forgot to mention that this also sends a message to Kuminga, as he is impatient to get more playing time, though he is still not yet at that "trustworthy level.

  2. I think if CP3 can embrace the Shaun Livingston role and control the 2nd unit, there potential for something good. Kuminga and paul pick-n-roll might be really good but the warriors definitely need athletic big. Hopefully we can sign McGee

  3. Really believe Chris got picked up for the development of the young guys …. The warriors have all that athleticism and no alley oops

  4. I think this is a bad trade for CP3…They dont need another player in his twilight years. CP3 will probably be the Andrei / Iggy this season.

  5. Off-ball Steph, with CP3 as a playmaker, Draymond's decision making, Wiggins Cutting and Looney rebounding? Give them ring already

  6. CP3’s $30 million can be a payroll dump for somebody. Only $15 million guaranteed next year. Not guaranteed 2024-5.

  7. You’re either playing curry at the 2 and klay at the 3 or your bringing cp3 off the bench

  8. The worst trade in NBA history period a 39 year old relic that Phoenix got rid of because he is done for the leading scorer on the warriors this year plus a promising young guard and draft picks this is without question the stupidest trade ever and you can try all you want to justify the stupidity behind this one

  9. Even if they had to trade Jordan Poole you would have some kind of package deal for a 7ft tall player that would address their biggest weakness size

  10. This move by the Warriors was a way to get out of Poole’s contract. Poole doesn’t fit inside the locker room. Everyone is about the team and all Poole cares about it himself. People like to point out the Draymond punch that ruined things. If you remember that video, Poole was jawing and everyone just ignored him. No one stepped in when Green approached him. Curry and Thompson had words with him during the season as well. Poole didn’t have many fans on the team. I compare him to Monta Ellis. Ellis was someone who averaged 25 points a game for a bad Warriors team. People were upset that he was traded but this team became good instantly, even though Bogut barely played. They became a playoff team and then a championship. I don’t think they could have done that with Monta. Poole is the same player. He comes in and jacks up shots because he think he’s this $30M a year player. Neither of them played a lick of defense either.

  11. Missing the main points… Ball handling and assists from a veteran for the second unit….Clearing cap space for Draymond. Duh.

  12. They're gonna do the same thing they did with d Angelo Russell and flip him for other player(s) during the season. CP3 is not a fit for the warriors

  13. Poole's poor play has less to do with youth and more to do with being comfortable. This guy was on a team that did very little to punish the guy that physically assaulted him. Imagine if Draymond had punched Steph or Klay it would be no chance of him continuing to be a Warrior.

  14. The part about the Warriors needing to run more pick and rolls have been obvious for awhile. I think the Warriors know that as well and its one of the reasons they are bringing CP3 in.

  15. A big part of the Warriors struggles on defense was because of Poole on both offense and defense. On offense he was reckless, took bad shots, turned the ball over like crazy that lead to easy scores for the other team and on defense he didn't even try a lot of the time. That has nothing to do with being too small that's just being bad.

  16. People who think this is a bad trade are crazy and probably thought the Wiggins trade was a bad one. What CP3 brings is exactly what this team needed, less turnovers, an adult in the room especially for that second unit. More importantly getting Poole off the team is addition by subtraction. How many games did this dude lose this year with bad shots, turnovers and poor defense? The Warriors were worst in the league in turnovers. And who lead the league in turnovers per minute? That's right Jordan Poole. Thankfully I won't have to watch that mess next year.

  17. this feels like the warriors made this move to get rid of their poole problem and then also keep him away from the lakers

  18. CP3 is a hall of famer next career path should be assistant coach in 2025, then head coach 2027.

  19. Can you put Chris Paul in a positionless line up and have him run the hand off motion in the non shooter positions? He has great vision and can easily step into his midrange shot. Curry should create some extra space for him to create off that action. Leave someone opposite in the dunker spot.

  20. I'm pretty sure JP brought this about on purpose(e.g. his letting the ball go out of bounds all by himself in the playoffs, unforced turnovers in the playoffs, etc.). He also showed he really puts himself first rather than the team. He's extremely talented, but had a huge burden put on him by the Warriors. He already got paid, so maybe he decided to take the easy way out. I'm sure he will have a better chance at headlines with the Wizards. Good luck, JP, and welcome aboard CP. CP will bring quite a basketball mind to the Warriors.
