So basically getting Steph was a sheer stroke of luck.

Look it might have panned out but it was a pipe dream to expect the appropriate player development while maximising the remaining good years of the core guys.
hahahoha
wonder who Jerry West wouldve used those picks on if he was still in the team
Jhyphi
Besides Wiseman, the rest of those were pick 28 or later.
They’re essentially 2nd round picks and almost never work out.
– Jones 30 – Evans 28 – Poole 28 – PBJ 28
backsight23
Well I was hoping that Evans III would develop. But nah.

Iām pissed they gave PBJ in the trade tooā¦

Stop talking I am scared
nowaymonet
we won 3 rings in that time, thereās not a team in the league who wouldnāt take that trade
BeyondSensitive6298
You still have JK&moody and almost every future first round and Warriors have 4 titles. What do you expect.
ManyFaceGod2001
I really thought the Warriors were gonna try and win now, while developing young players so they could continue to be a dominant team when Curry, and Klay and everyone else retires. Instead, itās all about winning now, donāt worry about the future
SharkSymphony
Is this unexpected? Is drafting not always an enormous crapshoot?
Ok-Contribution19
Trading them is fine. The issue I have is all of them were basically dumped in return for no value. We could have gotten something that could really valuable for five first round picks especially the number 2 overall.
Cbone06
Tbf Jones is meh and Evans sucked.
Poole and Wiseman trades are just the cost of doing business.
Trading Baldwin is a head scratcher imo
odd-meter
Seems like this is attributed to the core guys staying together on the same team for as long as they have. No other team has this kind of core longevity and no other team has these kinds of continual championship expectations – so no other team has this kind of near impossible entrance to the roster.
Whipitreelgud
Podziemski as a first round pick? I watched him play in college – hope he doesnāt continue the trend here.
I donāt know why Moody continues to be looked past. He did some nice work when he got minutes
downer9000
Poole in ’22 was š„, one of the more dangerous guards in the league. Obviously, he wasn’t the same in ’23, but that may have been related to the punch. I’d be interested in seeing which version plays in ’24.

PBJ also seemed to have a ton of potential but didn’t get good minutes. Players aren’t going to develop unless they get trust and experience.
InevitableBudget510
5 of those 7 got a ring
RemarkableBag9576
Getting signed by a dynasty is generally going to be a quick trip to a very nice bench and maybe a participation ring or two. It’s worse with the Warriors because of Kerr’s obsession with vets.

Adding PBJ is a catastrophe
calculating_hello
Have to keep Kuminga and Moody
TtheDuke
I wish we had Wiseman still. If the outcome was the same, imagine another year/offseason with him. Dray and CP to throw him lobsā¦.

Is that unusual for a perennial contender?
