He was never an option. This was always going to be the case.

I would have loved to have him on our team but I knew he wouldn’t make it to free agency

I thought he was a little overrated anyway.

  4. I thought we might have him cuz his injury recently. But ok

I know this is going to sound “of course you didn’t” but I actually didn’t really see how he fit with us. He’s a good player but I didn’t want a 6’9″ center that doesn’t shoot very well*, we might as well keep AD at the 5 if whatever center we bring in doesn’t have the 3 ball

Minny said he was a priority months ago. I’m just shocked he didn’t think he could get same money but a better role elsewhere.

Wolves investing around 117M per year on 3 bigs

Wolves have 91 million invested in 3 centers. Not sure what that franchise is doing

  8. Damn, he was the FA I was most excited for

I guess the Lakers will have to bring back Mo Bamba now. They will probably decline Malik Beasley for tax purposes. Or maybe they can renegotiate contracts for both players.

Good now I can stop hearing about him as a starting C, that would have been terrible

Good for Naz; he showed he can really play this year

Bad news for those who keep focusing on Brook Lopez. Brook is going to get around the same deal or even higher. Lakers cannot afford that.

And this concerns us… how? I’ve never heard the Lakers were interested in him as a FA.

Assuming Lopez, Vucevic, and Poetl will all cost too much, the best center options in free agency that are realistic are now Mason Plumlee (who I think the clippers will try keep) and the likes of Andre Drummond and Bismack Biyombo. I would prefer either at the minimum over Bamba at $10m. However, Bamba at a $10m expiring contract may have some value in a trade at the trade deadline.

Lol GGWP. Which center can be snag now

Good for them to re-sign him. He’s a good back up big but not what the Lakers really need. They need someone who can play alongside AD.

Bummer would’ve been a solid pickup but can’t say I’m surprised
