I like that Pascal Siakam want to stay. Pascal Siakam isn’t the problem we all know that. The problem is clearly Fred VanVleet because he isn’t playing team sport I bet on myself this is a team sport most night Pascal Siakam could score triple double the man can score, rebounds, assists so he isn’t the problem. I think most fans believe they can’t market Pascal because he work and go home. Fred on the other hand holding the ball way too long and we all know that doesn’t work asked James Harden. But this new coach Darko Rajakovic have a 5 second rules don’t hold the ball any longer than 5 seconds which should help. I still would rather these 4 players don’t come back Fred VanVleet, Malachai Flynn, Theadeus Young and Otter Porter. Trade them for Zion Williamson

Even the kawhi trade was so nerve wracking because he could have deliberately not played. We don't know how things are behind the scenes. Masai and Co always cross their Ts and dot their Is. Things are not as simple as people think. That's the problem with this entitled era. They just want. Great take on Pascal. If he can lead this team next season to 50 wins he deserves the supermax bag. He has at least 1 more shooter on the floor now as an option so his assists should go up by 1 or 2 per game. Coach Darko has to manage his average game minutes to around 33-35.
Hey Chev, I love Pascal, I think it's an important and crusial period for Raptors. It can go 3 ways (Rebuild, Retool, Run it back). The new CBA and the reaction by teams regarding contracts (Bradley Beal contract dump) is may be the norm. The raptors can afford to mess this up and they should avoid overpaying for everyone. The issue is Fred wants his bag, Jak wants his bag, OG wants his bag and big role on offence and Pascal wants his supermax or close to it. I agree that Pascal is underated due to his style of play and his marketability. We can't pay Pascal Supermax, if we do we can't keep everyone. I think depending on Fred asking price, if we are running it back or not. We may end up trading Pascal, this statement by Pascal camp does not help the organization. I believe his camp is trying to control his next destination or they are in the mids of his contract extension and I think the Portland not willing to trade 2nd overall pick or other assets help us in away.

There is a back and forth about whether we should trade Pascal or not and each side has their valid points. In the end, unless there is one team that throws so much assets and picks that is nearly impossible to turn down, keeping Pascal for the long term is the right move in my opinion. Unless Toronto has some god tier scouting ability to draft and develop superstars in every rebuilding year like Bucks and Nuggets, Pascal is like the 2nd best Power Forward in the league right with a very rare combination of skills and hunger that is hard to replicate. Also, Toronto is FA hellhole where our greatest FA signing is freaking Otto Porter of all players lol. So trying to keep the best players who wants to be here is very important unless something huge happens like the Kawhi trade.
Masai said a couple years ago that Pascal is who you want to go to war with. I don't think his sentiment has changed, maybe even more resolute after Pascal’s strong performance this past season.

Glad Chev brought this up. Our fan base is littered with noisy nephews who always want something new and people raised on instant gratification and playing 2K. No one has the patience to do what Denver did. They spent years getting to where they are now, and they kept the core together for the long haul. Our fan base is full of folks who would blow it up every single year if they could, trade everybody for picks, fire Masai and Bobby, and then they will be the exact same people yelling when all their ideas lead us off a cliff. Make smart, calculated, strategic changes, not just change for the sake of change.
