  1. Jason is in my top 3 basketball youtubers… I cant even watch espn and network talking heads anymore on basketball. Perk is the classic example of what the hell are they thinking…

  2. Colin, let me add my voice to the chorus praising Jason's contribution to the Volume. He's the best analyst out there. I've been a hard core basketball player and fan for over 60 years, and his work has re-kindled my interest in the game. His level of insight combined with practical knowledge of the game is so refreshing – no chasing headlines with hot takes and fake outrage. Go Jason!

  3. SGA as an example of a grounded American player misses that he was raised in Canada until the end of high school 😅But yeah he's been a great success story, love watching him play.

  4. Jason is great. I love hearing his analysis. I can't help myself but to ask, Jason, related to Kat? I mean, Timpf is not a very common name.

  5. Shai wanst a filler in the clipper trade, in fact that was the breaking point for doing it or not, clipper officer didnt wanted to give shai, the thunder said or he is in the deal or no deal. Props on thunder office for that but dont forget clipper didnt wanted to give him in the deal

  6. I don’t think Ja loves the game, like I know he loves playing and he “loves” basketball, but I feel like he only loves what the game can do for him, and would be ok if basketball was taken away from him and he stopped playing tomorrow. As a son who played baseball and excelled at it and played in college b/c that’s what I thought my dad wanted and wasn’t playing for me, for some reason Ja Morant strikes me as a son living his fathers dream, and playing for his dad.

  7. What Ty Jerome did in the reg season is the exact role cp would play. I think cp is a lot better than Ty Jerome

  8. 16:10 here’s the absolute problem with this: Jayson Tatum is not that type of Kobe, alpha person. He’s closer to how Steph Curry is that he uses Marcus Smart to get dog and energies going, but that allows for Jayson Tatum to play. To have Jayson Tatum, take that part of his voice away, his body language, and his thinking and feeling out the game that makes people think he’s more passive than he is will end up having people from SportsCenter and ESPN screaming that he needs to be a Kobe Bryant like “dog“

This won’t work, and I think Boston was too impatient here

  9. That was a nice comment by Colin about Jason at the start. It's also nice to know that the feedback we leave on these videos makes it back to Colin

  10. The reason Jason is so well-loved cuz 1. he is not bias to any player except for maybe LeBron, whom he always admit has bias but still manage to critique LBJ when he plays bad. 2. Jason’s analysis isnt just horse-shit, providing proof play by play. 3. He is not afraid of apologize, admitting when he is wrong about his flaw or prediction. 4. Jason is modest and always express positive energy. Gotta love his pure heart of love to the game of basketball ❤

  11. Jason is great because he keeps his personal opinions out of his analysis and when he doesn't he states he may be bias. No one repeat no one does that on internet or TV anymore its all personal preference. Dude is a winner💯🏆

  12. Jason has made me fall in love with basketball the last few years. His breakdowns, in-depth analysis, and ability to show us the nuances of this beautiful game are truly a breathe of fresh air in sports media. Appreciate Colin for signing him 🙏

  13. We're at the point where we have to count all of N America to find a marketable player 😂

  14. We got Chris Paul for kuminga this year is his coming out party not last year when he stripped Cj macollom at the end game buzzer when cj was about to shoot a game winner. 😂 jk is a monster idk how I’m the only one that sees it 😭😭 Steve please 30 mins a game for jk

  15. I think Jason, with all due respect, is overvaluing and overrated Poole. Not as much as non serious fans get sucked into due to mainly offensive game and mainly flashy scoring with high degree of difficulty for Jordan.

I hear the point though, and we'd all like to know both what the realistic market for Poole was, and how much Dunleavy worked on this, how much he understood that market. I can agree to some degree it seems like the W's could have got more….but then again, i only feel that way not through how i actually rate Poole, but that i know most fans outside GS probably over-rate him (as do many Ws fans.)

The Dunleavy hire makes sense to this long time middle aged Warriors fan. He may have represented a low point in decades of low points as to his draft and at #3 overall selection, and with that new ownership back then that made a terrible team somehow worse for decades….but i digress, the Dunleavy hire makes sense because the Ws aren't some floundering team trying the next best thing with a new slate. No, the Ws are up and running and ready to seriously compete right now and moreso owe it to all involved to do so and we Ws fans are finally lucky with ownership now, to say the least with the job they've done and money they historically spend.

But by Dunleavy being groomed in the room for years now over some other GM, well, i think he "gets" it and perhaps some other new GM wouldn't have seen the nuance with Jordan, his game, how much it just isn't worth it for the Ws and almost has become even before it starts a case where it's almost a sure thing the contract won't be a good one and maybe it's a case where get an all time high IQ PG even hungrier than the W's vets……..will make the biggest weakness the bench better most likely……to as you say get multiple young players….i hear you Jason, but again, when every single factor fits…getting away from poole's contract, win right now, and i'm not the only person including GMs i'm sure that aren't in love with Poole for that deal (i think jordan will put up shallow counting stats, try to "lead" and pass more, but he's who he is, an amazingly high degree of difficulty and beautiful looking scorer with zero D, a go go go himself but not really lead and certainly not lead with his game style… and is a feather and has a shallow amazing looking but not so great really game…one that now that he cannot simply play off the gravity of the team he was with he'll get exposed on. He's confident, and he's talented, and he's a good guy from all we can tell. But you just don't pay mainly just scorers that much, i thought it was a mistake at the time, that the Ws got caught up in the feel good nature of it after winning the finals.

But, i can see that perhaps the W's could have gotten more. I'm just happy they got out from the deal and player at a time even the Ws need to whittle some cap…and at the same time bring in an all time hungry and smart player that could fix the teams biggest weakness….AND if ever there was a time to just think now, well, this is it for the Dubs (and if they nail one or both of these picks, and JK and Moody also or at least one of them….if one or two out of GP, JK, MM, and the two rookies hits….just saying…and there will be more activity…and this all relies on Dray…but even if he doesn't end up here losing Poole just doesn't bother me for that deal…and his game. But yes, perhaps they could have got more….but totally happy with this.

And i don't care about Poole chanting about getting paid in the afterglow celebration a year+ ago, i don't care about whatever led to Dray's punch. I'm simply talking ball. He's amazing and he will put up stats with the Wiz. But he is a part, mainly i final piece to a great team, not the fulcrum of one like he'll now be asked to be and is paid.

    Peace

  16. John wall literally has a WINNING playoff record and All his losses are to the 1st seed in 6 or 7 games. Why does he think he isn’t impactful?

  17. The Volume is a pure home-run … teamed up with Colin, Jason Timpf produces the best NBA analysis ; when it comes to NFL you have John Middlekauf… talk about great (the best) talent scouting… Bigtime Kudos to Colin Cowherd who has hit pure gold !!

  18. Shai was actually the centerpiece of the Paul George trade. other than that this EP was great

  19. this means that the warriors starting lineup is steph, klay, wiggs, draymon, looney. Second unit is gp2, cp3, Kuminga, and god forbid if we get someone like steven adams or bam adebayo for scoring in the paint. At that point the second unit is going to be a low turn over ball handling unit that can control the pace. Pretty deep squad Aslong as cp is healthy and we get two more large pieces that can play two way

  20. So good to see a guy analysing what he see’s and not searching for random hot takes

  21. CP3 to the Warriors is a win 🤔 I’m not sure who you’re trying to convince more – us or yourselves 😂 I’m struggling with buying in to the CP trade but I’m going on positive and holding out hope – I’m riding this thing till the wheels fall off no matter what!!! LFG 🙌🏼

  22. Speaking of Rashaun Holmes, he is going to be huge low key move for Dallas, book it. He was wasting away on Sac, but can pick and roll and run with Kyrie (if) and Doncic, board and just be much better at the lob and run game than any of the bigs Dallas has been running out there all these years (powell and what's his name are efficient but not Holmes.)

  23. Jason is awesome! In a world where hot takes and personal beefs Rule the Day Jason keeps it positive and entertaining while sticking to the x's and o's. I love the guy.

  24. Devin booker is underrated in the professional star conversation. He was dropped as a late lottery pick into a completely crap situation in Phx. It was about as dysfunctional as a franchise can be, but he always got better, never got in trouble, and just stuck to the game.

  25. I like the Boston deal. And i'm not as big a Porzingis fan as some. They got a LOT for one guy who is a bit rough around the edges as valuable as Smart is. Smart may be more important for them than i out west know. But it sure seems while great on D that's a lot (picks too) to get for just Marcus Smart (who again, i like.)

  26. I get it he's your boss so I will say it for you Jason. The Chris Paul trade made no sense! Colin wants almost needs to hold on to his belief that warriors are so smart that he's talking himself into this not being a shortsighted and meaningless move. They could have better used Poole's contract than to solve for a 15 min problem when Steph's not playing. Let alone the fact that they don't have the personnel to be effective @ the pick n roll and no money to get that guy

  27. CP3 , Kuminga , Trayce , moody , JP

I can see some lob city in the second unit
