This definitely was a great turnaround after the Beal trade since The previous front office’s decision to give Beal a no trade clause meant Beal had the ultimate say in where he wanted to go. Ideally like you said the Wizards would have preferred the rumored Miami trade which did include first round picks
You took out a lot of details in the BB trade NTC, the only one in the NBA. And KP could have left for nothing.
About the Beal trade – No Trade Clause. Beal not only got to say where he would go, he had final say over what the Wizards got in return. Bartelstein's son is running things for the Suns. Bartelstein/Beal totally played Tommy/Ted. That, among other reasons is why Tommy got fired.

With beal's NTC he could have forced Washington's hand to send him to Phoenix which would dramatically decrease the chance of a bidding war. Plus even though I am not super high on Poole, he's worth a couple of 1st's plus he's a proven player in the league so if you look at it as Beal for Poole and whatever else Washington got (can't remember at the moment) then I don't think it's as terrible as it seemed when they just moved him for CP3
It is worth mentioning that they got a new team president and GM, so these trades are to get Beal's large contract off their books.
Poole is like JR Smith with a big ego
The only thing I see in Poole is potential draft stock
wizrds had better options (i.e. miami) but because of the NTC, beal wanted to go to Phoenix…ditto for Porzingas opt out opion. wizards literally did the only thing they could do.

Jordan poole is a slightly cheaper, younger, less talented Bradley beal.
Given their ages, Poole is more valuable to the Wizards than Beal, particularly due to Beal's lack of defense and clutch play.
Beal's NTC was a huge obstacle in why they couldnt get the best deal they could for him. Miami's offer included at least a first round pick but ultimately that doesn't matter if Beal tells them he only wanted to go to Phoenix. It is what it is.
