Can someone post what it says?

    Quote from the tweet:

“He just wants a team that has a shot… Any time you bring your agent along for a meeting with the team, it’s pretty formal. It’s pretty serious.”

In the sound bite Haynes also talks about how the meeting is all about whether or not Dame and Cronin can find a “middle” common ground. Dame clearly wants older vets. Hope Cronin is willing to support Dame with whatever we can get at this point.

It’s too bad the organization doesn’t have the same mindset as Lillard. Hopefully they can give him another vet or two (ones that can actually contribute) because that sounds like all he is asking for.

So over his little mouthpiece running around doing the talking for him.

We have wasted a ton of picks on mediocre vets in past years. Middle ground exists but if you want to win, it’s closer to Cronin’s side. Most of the winning teams recently were built through draft, and most forced attempts failed miserably.

This is fine and part of the known plan. Trades for 3 were not good so you draft BPA then you package Ant, figure out the first round pick situational with the bulls, and package future firsts, maybe throw Naz in. And get him that Vet. Resign Grant. We actually would have a pretty balanced team of young to Prime, to Dame aged players. Just need some backup big signs and that trade and Dame will be on a better team in the next two years here than he would anywhere else that he prefers. It’s not going to take five years to develop Sharpe or Scoot

Yeah, unless Portland call pull something this summer, all signs point to Dame wanting out. Haynes is right, if the agent is there, it’s pretty serious.

Fuck, I just hope Amen, Ausar, or Jarace Walker do not perform extremely well this season because the last thing I want to see is that we had a potential talented fit next to Dame and could’ve prevented him from leaving.

At this rate might tell ESPN to book an hour tomorrow on the live network for “The decision 2”. This is turning into Lebron level event of when he left Cleveland. Would actually be funny if they did that and then Dame committed to Portland.

This just in: aging all-star does not want to be on a team with 9 guys under 25, and only one player signed for next season who’s actually capable of contributing towards winning basketball.

It’s crazy that fans are stuck on Jaylen Brown wouldn’t make the Blazers a contender, Mikal wouldn’t, Zion wouldn’t, Siakam wouldn’t, OG wouldn’t. Dame doesn’t even want a big 3 team or some shit, he just wants the FO to look like it’s trying and they won’t even do that lol

I think this is positive tbh. I don’t think Dame is unrealistic in his expectations. I highly doubt he thinks we can build a contender. He just wants a shot at being competitive. A team that can give him a chance at doing something.

If we can turn Ant+assets into a legit vet wing contributor, high end would be something like Keldon or Kuz in a S&T but there are less sexy options out there, use the MLE to bring in a legit big or more wing depth, and maybe another move at the margins for a solid 8/9th man level rotation option, he’d probably be perfectly fine seeing what we have this season.

    Dame, Tisse, Kuz, Jerami, Nurk

    Scoot, Sharpe, MLE, Murray, Gafford

With Trendon, Nas, Jabari, maybe Drew, whoever doesn’t get used as salary in trades fighting for minutes.

Would be a team that has potential to compete for a 6th seed right away, while also having legitimate room to grow into contention down the line.

Anything we do with Dame+Scoot on the same roster is going to be hamfisted. I think both parties are well aware of that, but I don’t think we need another “star” to show him the team wants to win. Just better, more coherent roster construction with reliable vets.

the thing is and this is where it gets difficult, cronin promised dame a team that can compete. he has said it time and again over the last year and just very recently. if he pulls the plug on this idea and switches to a rebuild it is a very bad look for the organization and everyone in the front office. so it will be interesting to see how he handles the situation and tries to thread the needle. baptism by fire for cronin but I really hope he doesn’t fuck this up.

We need a bench. How many games last year did we win the first quarter only to lose major ground. Or how many leads at half that lead to double digit loses. I think we’ve had talent but seem to always fumble after getting a jump on the other team. And I’d love to bring in certain players but we need cap space.

  14. I think Dame and his agent know the teams that would trade for him don’t have the pieces to make the Blazers pull the trigger, because they’re also in win-now mode… at least it’s harder to make an equitable deal, same with the #3 pick in Scoot, which puts the front office in a bind. So Cronin might have to call their bluff at least until the mid season deadline… I do think they’re actively trying to see what they can get for Nas, Ant and Nurk, but Dame has to know a trade for the sake of a trade doesn’t cut it. I think he starts the season in Portland

  15. To me it sounds like public posturing before asking for a trade.

And on the flip side, I think if he was still 100% committed that would be the info coming out right now.

I hope Dame gets whatever he wants. He deserves the best possible scenario for himself and his family. If the blazers move on I hope we send him off the right way. Lillard is an absolute treasure. I don’t wish him the best and I’m looking forward to the next phase of the blazers.

This dude ran off to Cleveland and we’re supposed to care about anything he has to say about our team/players?
