Great move for the program
Nick Nurse dipped quietly lmaoooooo
nurse really dropped the whole canada is his second home thing quick huh
LOL. Nurse is the one that said he needed players willing to commit to the team to make Canada Basketball successful. And then he dips.
We got jordi!!! Canada eating good
Nurse era officially comes to an end
Nurse relationship with everyone must’ve went a complete 180.
Kinda odd that there was zero reports of Nick Nurse not being the coach anymore, whether it was his decision or team canada’s, no? Unless i missed that somewhere, im not exactly up to date on the day to day dealing of the canada basketball program.
The Nick Nurse liar tour continues
Great news but does the departure of Nick effect the commitment players made to the team? Dumb question I know but just wondering.
Can we just handle the split with Nurse without being bitter? He got us a chip and it didn’t work out after. We can really just leave it at that.
In a recent interview he said he was still the coach. Confused
wait? nurse is the coach
Hope this doesn’t affect any commitments from the players this upcoming FIBAWC. I just wanna see one tournament with Canada’s top dawgs together.
Aren’t they going broke? There might not even be a Canada basketball team in the future
Does this mean he’ll be added as a Raptors coach too, which would be great? Being based in Toronto would make it easier for him, as it was for Nurse. I assume the Raptors job announcement would have come before this announcement.
Great news.
So we did end up getting Jordi has a head coach. Just not for the NBA lol
So, how are we gonna blame this Nurse departure on the FO?
He was on the hoop collective and they talked about his busy summer. I’m guessing he looked at being a new HC in Philly and the work he needed to do and it conflicted with his more important job. It is a job that only works if you’re available. He wasn’t.
Nurse is joining a team with championship aspirations with the reigning mvp. He’s prob a bit busy with nba stuff to also give his attention to the national team. He’s gotta get situated there first given they are paying him millions
Can’t blame the guy.
People will soon realize how much of an asshole Nick Nurse truly is behind the scenes
Hopefully this means Trey Lyles is playing
Nicks words
“A three-year commitment from the coaching staff and the players is the key to maximizing Canada’s talent, he said.”

Nurse just took over a new team and he can’t give the national team the time it needs this summer, so he stepped down, while helping them get a new coach. But you nerds trying to act like he did something bad here.
Really interesting, considering he missed out on the Raps coaching job.
Great gig for him, though, as it will set him up with credentials for the next set of head coaching positions that come up.
This doesn’t seem surprising, seems a bit abrupt though. I have a feeling things would’ve been way too awkward what with how close Canada Basketball is with the Raptors organization and then Nurse having to face the same reporters that he did in Toronto.
This could be a huge deal for Fernandez though, if he does a really good job with Canada it could help to further solidify his chances at being a head coach in the NBA.
I scrolled past a Video of Jordi’s coaching phillosophy from the coaching search days this morning in my saves. Must be my lucky day
