*With free agency opening this weekend, my sense is the Raptors plan to prioritize retaining VanVleet & Poeltl and expect it’ll take annual salaries of $30M+ and ~$20M respectively to get it done. At that cost and assuming they intend to avoid tax, they’d have to clear $ elsewhere*

Okay with not overpaying for FVV. Dude has shot under 40% last 2/3 years

Oh noooo. Pls raptors we really wanted him. Oh well time to move on. We tried our best guys.

Aw shucks. The most expensive FA target that I’m least excited about. How will I ever get over this? Wait, who are we talking about again?

  5. Fuck the Raptors are dead set on being a perennial .500 team, the Wizards of a new era.

A lineup of FVV, Trent, OG, Siakam and Poeltl just isn’t doing it in a top heavy east, and paying starting calibre guys like FVV and Poeltl $20-30 million each is absolutely insane to me. They should have made the move for Scoot (and they still can), he’s a hell of a piece to start a rebuild with.

  6. Won’t lose any sleep if we don’t get him. We can get one of the Wizards PGs for cheap.

Just need a vet to help ease Amen into the role.

I heard John Wall is available to mentor our youngsters. 😉 But joking aside, is it possible to get a Conley-type player? Tyus or TJ McConnell? How about Rubio? I know D-rose is available but he’s not much of a playmaker, but he’s a great pro to have.
