[Weinbach} Rumour- The Bucks could make a strong push for Jazz PG Collin Sexton this offseason. .

“The Bucks could make a strong push for Jazz PG Collin Sexton this offseason. Milwaukee seems to think well of Sexton’s fit within new HC Adrian Griffin’s system. The 24-year-old slasher averaged 14.3 points and 2.9 assists on 50.6% shooting and 39.3% from 3 last season. The Bucks would likely prefer to build a package around Grayson Allen, Pat Connaughton, and draft compensation. A more realistic package would include Bobby Portis. Utah may not have much interest in Portis after acquiring John Collins but a third team could always enter the mix. ”

I’d be ok with trading Sexton, since THT opted in we have a bit of a logjam at PG with sexton, THT, George and Dunn, whilst sexton plays hard and is a great locker room guy I don’t think he is viewed as a long term piece. Being a small guard its sort of the opposite of what the Front office want to achieve with positional length

The Bucks just don’t have anything that the Jazz want. The team doesn’t need more picks, especially late first rounders. Sexton’s contract is very reasonable for his production and Danny isn’t going to give him away for spare parts.

The bucks don’t really have great picks in my opinion. If we are gonna trade Sexton I want good, young-ish talent back. Not shooters who don’t fit the timeline or positional length like you said.

Sexton’s value will only increase next season if he continues to play well (and hopefully injury free) – I would hold him until at least the trade deadline.

The only player I’m trading Collin for is a floor general, or 2 unprotected firsts. The Bucks don’t have any of those. Jrue is old, and I doubt the Bucks would trade him for Collin

  5. I’m higher than the consensus on Sexton. I’d like to keep him as a future piece. If we do trade him at some point, it better be for a good haul (the type of package Milwaukee doesn’t have).

Fine. I guess we will take Giannis.

So what I remember about acquiring Sexton is that the Jazz looked at him like he could be a pg in the future. That was the upside when we got him. We didn’t really get to see it last year due to injuries and having Conley and Clarkson on the team at the time. Maybe the plan was always to move on from Conley, but I think at least last year, their plan was to retain Clarkson. So maybe the plan was to have Sexton at the 1 and Clarkson at the 2. My point or the reason I say all of this is maybe the plan this year and why we seem thin at pg is because they envision Collin to play a lot of pg minutes with Dunn or THT backing him up.

They also made him available for trade, so it could just as well be possible they don’t see the point guard potential anymore. It’s curious as to why they would draft the same archetype in key. I know they think he can play point as well, but if they trade Collin, they are basically saying they were wrong about his pg potential after signing him to a fairly large extension. So is Collin the plan at pg? Who’s on the trading block? Kelly and Collin? What is the expected return on those guys and csn Collin be an effective point guard? Does he even have to play pg with Dunn and possibly THT on the roster. If he can’t play pg effectively, is it worth rostering him at that number as a bench spark plug? Lots to consider with Collin.

I don’t really see a fit here with that return. We’re better off just keeping Sexton. While Giannis is still a Buck and healthy, that team is not going to have a valuable FRP.
