[JMerk] I’m being told the Lakers will try to improve their roster via trades if not they will run it back
I’m honestly surprised by this if it’s true because I was sure Pelinka would move on from both to have the TPMLE (12m) available. That’s a chance at grabbing someone like Bruce Brown or Donte Divincenzo. We’ll soon see if this is just a way to increase our leverage in any potential trades if teams don’t think they can just sign them as free agents in a few days.
I’m one of the few that can tolerate Irwin. I actually enjoy his podcasts. But dude does not have sources 🤣😂
They weren’t productive on the court if they’re not being used in a trade why would they bring them back??

Unless they get word they have someone to take the TPMLE – I expect them to bring them both back. Expiring deals are like gold in this market.

If true, this is part of the best scenario for the team (in addition to re-signing AR, Rui, and DLo). It will maximize our flexibility/options for future trades. We don’t want to regret not having Bamba and Beasley’s expiring (tradeable) contracts when the 2024 trade deadline comes around.
There will be opportunities for a major upgrade via in-season trade and having expiring salary available will help us make major trade upgrades during the season

This is good news. Keep them as trade chips for the deadline. I know this is basic, but I wouldn’t have been shocked if they let those guys go to save money lol
