[Marc Stein] Sources tell The Stein Line that the Indiana Pacers, who are projected to have more than $30 million in salary cap space, are strongly weighing a three-year offer for Strus in the $48 million range.

Would genuinely be a horrible move. How many 6’5 guards do we need on the roster?

  2. SpinJitsu259

Sigh. I hope if they do this it’s in concert with another big move (Cam Johnson, Grant Williams, Hunter, Barnes, etc.). Would be really deflating if Strus turns out to be their most significant FA move.

My god does Carlisle love his shooting lol

Feels like an awful lot of money for an ok player who is the same height as every other player we have

    This cannot be legit

Dude shot 31% from 3 last year and his only role is a shooter

  5. shastmak4

3 for 48 is insane. We finally got some cap room and we gonna do this

  6. OGJimmyP

    Gotta think it’s a smokescreen.

Would genuinely be awful if this happens

##*Are you 6’5″ and play guard in the NBA?*

*Well bring your ass down to the Indiana Pacers, we got a spot for you!*

I guess he does fit the offense we are trying to build. And he did just drag the Heat to the finals with Martin.

Not really what I was hoping for but I guess if we can’t get OG… I just question how that affects Mathurin/Nembhard/Hield/Nesmith/Sheppard

Not a fan. Disappeared in large stretches in the finals. Good – not great – shooter. 6’5″ role player. Just don’t see the appeal here.

We don’t normally leak. And this makes zero sense. Smoke

The most pacers move possible lol. Please, another move to keep us right where we feel comfortable, mediocrity.

I have yet to see a Pacers rumor like this one pan out. His camp is probably just using this as leverage for his next contract with the Heat. Pacers are one of the only teams with enough money for an offer like that to make sense from a leverage perspective.

  13. StanceLephenson

I assume they are trading Buddy in this case? If not it makes zero sense

  14. StanceLephenson

Strus is a career 32% 3 pt shooter in the playoffs

  15. Apprehensive_Pie8897

Out of all the moves we could possibly make in free agency this one is probably the worst.

  16. babysamissimasybab

I really like Strus, but we just don’t need him. The only thing I care about is getting a wing.

  17. CeeSher58

It’s obvious the Heat are the “source” here. Doesn’t sound like them, but … who knows?

  18. Fullmetalaardvarks

    This would be absolutely tragic

  19. The worst part about this rumor (aside from actually potentially signing him), is other teams get more ammunition to talk shit

  20. batmans420

The Pacers need help for their guard addiction

  21. festar35_Pacers

So would this mean a Hield + Duarte (plus extra) for Hunter could very well be on the table?

    C. Turner/Smith or Jackson

    PF. Walker/Nesmith or Nwora

    SF. Hunter/Strus

    SG. Mathruin/Sheppard

    PG. Haliburton/Nembhard
