Few Notes From Fred Katz on KFS Q&A

Less reporting and more opinions, but Katz seems pretty plugged in to both the Knicks and NBA as a whole.

Loves PG as a fit, doesn’t think Clippers will trade him

Doesn’t think Knicks will “shoot their wad” on LaVine.

Can’t rule out KAT entirely but Wolves are looking for a big package, so seems unlikely.

Says Brunson is obviously staying, Julius and Mitch likely staying, everyone else probably available for the right trade.

He’s agreed with most here that I’ve read that adding DiVincenzo doesn’t make a ton of sense unless they trade some guys. There is some risk that he’s redundant with Grimes especially. Thinks he is a good player though and would help them win games.

They really pressed him on who the Knicks will end up with, and he said his guess (made it clear it was not sourced info) was OG. The Knicks tried to get OG for expirings and picks at the deadline but the Raptors went for a win now move (Poeltl) so obviously not a fit at the time. But if FVV leaves maybe they go in a different direction, especially with OG being an expiring plus now the CAA connection.

Said they registered some interest but didn’t go heavy after Beal, which ultimately was never on the table anyway, but I thought interesting nonetheless.

Let’s Go Knicks!

Listening now, intrigued by the Quickley stuff.

It doesn’t sound like they are shopping Quickley or really set on sending him off, but Katz said they had a discussion with another team and weren’t close, but the player they were interested in was really good in their prime.
