We have to trade Siakam. I don’t even think this is confusing. Teams want him now, take advantage of that. We don’t need Siakam to take 18-19 shots a game for us anymore and end up hovering around 9th in the East next season.

The rumor mill is dumb. But let’s say this is real, how are those talks going to go? Give him more shots? Make different trades? Fred isn’t the player you need to build around. His playoff performances and team performances with him as a leader is evidence of that.

If this is even remotely true, this FO is absolutely cooked. How stubbornly blind can one FO possibly be to run this mediocrity back?
What are they trying to accomplish here besides possibly adding some additional home date revenues in the playoffs? We’re not winning with this roster so time to look to the future (Barnes etc) and add young pieces around the youngsters. Masai must have some deadline he’s been given as nothing else makes sense here.

2019 was a long time ago.
When I see these types of reports, I keep thinking of the next five years. The raptors will be screwed for at least the next five years if they try to roll it back because eventually they will have to rebuild. FVV and Siakam are not going to be enough to be any better than a fringe to middling playoff team. I would also wonder what that would do to Barnes in long term. Would he want to re-sign when the team is inevitably forced to retool? I love the idea of competing but I don’t think this is the right group for that. I hope I am wrong on all points

Strange times in Toronto man
Honestly I can see parallels between Toronto and Portland. The core is decent but will never be a contender. At some point you have to sell high and just reshape the core instead of running it back
