[Dave McMenamin] The Lakers will waive Mo Bamba and not pick up the team option on Malik Beasley today, sources told ESPN. LAL plans to stay in contact with both players’ representatives throughout free agency and could find different deal structures for Bamba and/or Beasley’s return to LA

In the case brown doesnt sign with us i wonder what other options there are

if the Lakers dont land Brook or Bruce with this, its hard to say this was the right decision.

expiring contracts are at an all time high value.

We have to bring back Bamba on a cheaper deal. The next best backup big available is Mason Plumlee lol

I would love to have both back on better deals. I think giving Beas a full training camp will help with his confidence and chemistry. Plus he was going through a lot last season with his family.

We didn’t get to see enough of Bamba and I’d like to see him as our back up five. Not many other options as well.

They must be confident they can get somebody on the MLE. Tomorrow should be a fun (or not so fun) day

I’d want Beasley back on a friendly deal. Shooting is real. I know he was dealing with family issues last season. So not out on him.

Rob definitely has something up his sleeve…I hope! 👀

Hope Rob has somebody lined up for a big

Hopefully we bring back Mamba. We need a real center on this team even if he’s a backup.

Rob got something marinating in the fridge for the 4th👨🏻‍🍳

Can’t believe both guys got waived.

Either we have someone lined up or the FO is going to cheap out and blame it on “nobody wanted to be a Laker because they bitch made”.

  13. SophisticamatedApe

But but mo mamba is the next coming of tim duncan according to some here!!

Hopefully we have a handshake agreement with someone already otherwise it’d be a huge waste of their salary when we could’ve used it for a trade.

Let’s go gtfo Beasley take your 30% 3pt shooting elsewhere

Apparently there’s reports lakers are planning to use the mle on Dennis fucking Schroeder

Blows my mind that people are reacting to this news as if Rob hasn’t been trying to find a package to trade Bamba and Beasley for weeks lol. If something better than whatever the MLE targets would have been presented, I’m sure a deal would have been made.

Clearly, the rest of the league’s interest in their expiring deals was not what the Lakers thought would improve the team.

I’m convinced people on here didn’t watch Beasley or Bamba when they were on the lakers, Beasley shot above 40% every 6-7 games and was unplayable in the playoffs and Mo looked lost on defense and just camped at the 3pt line on offense . I get wanting to run it back but I don’t think an offseason is gonna change much
