[Popper] Wouldn’t rule the Knicks out of Harden talks — but much more likely as a three-team deal with NYK stepping in as PG destination. He is due $45.6m this coming season with a player option for $48.7m in 2024-25 so some math it would take.

This is what I originally thought when I heard us in there. Harden and Brunson are redundant (both offensive playstyle and defensive liability) and would honestly make no sense, but we’ve been rumored for PG for a couple weeks now.
Clips get Harden, Knicks get PG, Philly gets RJ and IQ.
Just don’t think it’s gonna happen with the Knicks and a big player unless it’s a salary dump , we’re looking to offload Fournier mainly
Remember we got to resign Brunson in 2 years, we’re not getting mixed up long term with the corpse of Pg or an older Harden.
Lots of decisions the Knicks have to make in the next 2 years and you can’t get caught up with these older guys limiting you
No thanks. PJ cannot seem to stay on the court.
One thing to note. PG has 2 years and 1 is a player option. That takes you roughly to a potential Luka or Booker FA, which is what the speculation has always been. Either by then you wrap up with George or he declines and extends his final year to make money work.
Also around that time Randle contract up and Brunson extension due. So it would make Knicks a threat next couple years. Stack wins and experience or maybe even a dark horse run.
So I get concerns over PG but I think it fits really nice by shortening a window of this team now, but not stopping us from retooling in a couple years.
Clips want to ADD Harden not replace PG

Fucking Yoda over here .
Paul George has played in 189 games over the last 4 seasons, he’s missed 139 games. Meaning he’s only played in 58% of total games in those 4 years. Guy doesn’t play enough to warrant that contract that you have to match to even get him and I don’t think him being around slightly more than only half the time improves the team.
