Rudy playing in World Cup

Head coach Vincent Collet went on the French TV3 channel on a special mini-show and announced the roster that’s going to compete for medals in the World Cup.

NBA star Rudy Gobert headlines the roster after confirming that he will participate in the tournament. His fellow NBA compatriots Evan Fournier, Nicolas Batum, and Frank Ntilikina are also included on the roster.

by choice, he now has zero excuses for not being 100% for training camp. Wanna play for your country? Cool. Don’t show up and blame that for not being in shape, conditioned, and ready to ride for the full 82. No fuckin knee brace, no spasms, no bullshit.

This is bullshit. They are already qualified. I’m not hearing any excuses from this knucklehead this year.

I just hope that Rudy doesn’t have any lingering injuries right now. If he can avoid getting injured in the tournament and limit his minutes, then it could be a good thing for his off-season conditioning. But I know every Wolves fan is probably holding their breath considering that last year Rudy said playing for France didn’t allow him to start the season 100%. We desperately need Rudy and KAT to both stay healthy this year if we’re gonna develop the chemistry we need for the playoffs.

Context always matters. In general, I think players playing for their country is great. However, if you are on the wrong side of 30, coming off your worst season in which you directly cited getting banged up during last summer as to what contributed to subpar play, then I think you should sit it out. I am personally disappointed by this but it doesn’t have to be the end of the world if he can just stay healthy.

People here just don’t understand that for Europeans World Cup, representing your country is more important than NBA. Rudy is one of greatest Fr*nch basketball players and wants to compete as long as his body allows him while still being impactful. NBA is just his dream job to make money, all of people that are complaining behave like bosses that are furious that their worker does something in his free time and is not giving his 150% in job.

Yeah imma choose KAT over Rudy in any trade scenario. KAT is an ideal fit next to Ant. Rudy is a great defender. We fucked up on trading for him. Accept it, move on, trade him for a PG if it doesn’t work this year. Maybe you get a dejounte Murray or somebody in that tier of players.

If this guy blames poor play on the world cup like he did last season we should look into voiding his contract

but but guys, he got a sick dunk today! that totally makes up for putting his old ass body on the line for pointless MEDALS. WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! /s

Soon Wemby will help us crush every national team out there. This is your first and last warning, non French.

World Cup Finals are 10th of september. Training camp begins 27th? Of september. If there’s no major injuries I think it’s plenty of time to recover. I believe 8 games max if you get to finals.

Wemby isn’t playing either… Rudy should do the same and just play in the olympics next year

Realistically, what’s the quickest France could be eliminated? Not joking. I don’t follow fiba, is there other better teams or is France a top contender?
