Morey has no choice now. The CBA changes tomorrow. The amount of money he saves for his team to get under the second apron is massive compared to tomorrow. He has no leverage. He has no time left, he can’t play this out. If harden is not traded today his value is almost completely shot and the amount they would receive in return would be extremely minimal. If he wants any chance to build around Embiid and for the owner to not be balls deep in luxury tax, harden is gone today.

I’m very torn on this. On one hand the positives: Harden helps our offense and Mook will be an addition via subtraction(although I do wonder what we’ll do with our PF spot). On the other hand: the not so bright spots: Harden can still perform but the playoffs are a different discussion. The only piece in return alongside Harden would probably be PJ Tucker(I’d welcome Tobias too). While he had his moment in 2021,he’s pretty much a poor man’s Al Hortford(defensive specialist) and just as old, and I’d be heartbroken to see Mann go if he’s a part of this deal. It would be nice to get Harden at a discount sure, but I dread to witness the worse case scenario of this hypothetical trade.

Thanks for the insight! I was wondering about this yesterday so it benefits them to make the trade before start of the new CBA

This is interesting. Morey takes his time though, but maybe not this time.
