[Koreen] If — if — VanVleet leaves and the Raptors have to turn to the MLE to get guard depth, here are some names I’d watch: Vincent, Jevon Carter, Schroder, Coby White (RFA), Seth Curry.

Which guard do you prefer most for the MLE?

I’d like Seth and Coby more than the favorite rn in Gabe

  2. BrianBurns58

I dont care I just need Vanbrick gone

  3. hoi4throwaway

Is Jevon Carter good or do I have low expectations?

  4. notraptorfaniswear

Does anyone watch Seth? Is he still good or washed?

  5. IcyOrdinary1

I like schroeder the most personally. Plays good defense and can score a bit. But none are great options. Time to rebuild/retool whatever.

Regardless of how big of an overall downgrade it is (with regards to single player value), it would be fun to have Seth on the team. You need several elite shooters when your main dudes have a play style like Scottie and Pascal. I’d love to watch an offense with our point forwards + shooters

  7. slamdunk23

Give me Jevon Carter on a short deal as a bridge to a real solution.

Gabe is an overpay for a full 4 year MLE.

  8. gamblewizard98

White could be a nice upside swing. Only 23, probably has some development left in him

  9. AlexRescueDotCom

Don’t want any of them. Trade Siakam and go into rebuild. Arena will still be sold out.

  10. Far-Comparison-7803

Meh I’d take a flyer on coby white

  11. Winter_Purpose8695

Looks like team anti FVV gets their wish

  12. jjkiller26

Vincent or Curry would be the most interesting options. Curry would pair very well with Scottie and Siakam

  13. mxgicjohnson

I would take Markquis Nowell over all of these guys if he was like 3 inches taller

  14. bwfivefive

Unless Scottie takes a giant leap there’s no way this team makes the play-in. No pick btw.

  15. Coby white would be nice. Everyone talking about Vincent but white is 4 years younger and averaged 15/4/4.8 when he started two years ago

  16. hypespud

Gabe, Seth curry, Jevon, delon wright any one maybe even two of them with dowtin as well I am pretty ok with to be honest

This is going to be a work in progress but I’m happy that Scottie will get to play into his natural flexibility a lot more soon

  17. Canadian__Bacon94

Out of those options. Scottie and Siakam running the point with curry as a off ball guard would be the best scenario

  18. tonydanzatapdances

Isn’t Seth Curry more of an SG than PG? I think he’s a good player but not really what we need

  19. Ill just give Flynn/Dowtin/Scottie the keys.

  20. GlueGuy00

Vincent and maybe Schroeder are the only guys worthy of TPMLE.

  21. JtheKing2k

Huge downgrade, but at least this will give more touches to Scottie & some of the other guys

  22. Coby white might be something? But no way Chicago let’s him go when they won’t have Lonzo ball

  23. I don’t think we can get Schroder or White but if we could that’d be preferred. I would take Jevon Carter out of the rest, he can really shoot it

  24. sparxxx187

Coby White would be a great pickup for the MLE. I’d think the Bulls match $12M but he’s worth the shot at 23 years old.

Not really a point guard but he can shoot the 3 and get to the rim, and he’s a good defender. He could fit well as a secondary creator playing off Barnes and Siakam.

If that falls through Carter would be 2 on my list, Vincent 3.

  25. Spider_Carnage23

Run it with Jeff Dowtin, and Marquis Nowell, trade Flynn if FVV walks

  26. QueasyDrummer00

Vincent or Seth it is. Schroeder isn’t a bad option either. It’s not a great list, but it’s not like we were going to be contenders with FVV anyways

  27. ChiefSoldierFrog

So if Fred is gone do we just play Scottie at PG?

  28. CoolEarth5026

PLEASE stop suggesting Seth Curry is the answer. The only thing good about him is that he has a brother who is a superstar.

Koreen has been very inaccurate with his information so I don’t really listen to him anymore.

I actually think our PG fix after FVV leaves will not come via free agency but rather an OG trade. this seems to be the most logical route given they didn’t flip him at the draft and there are a couple more highly-ranked PG’s that need to sort out their 2023-24 homes: Harden and Kyrie.

The free agent market for PG’s is quite frankly terrible. either 1B or second unit options, which doesn’t help us contend.

Some primary ballhandler options (as part of packages with other pieces) via teams that have expressed interest in OG

    1-Orlando: Suggs or Fultz
    2-Atlanta: Dejonte
3-Indiana: Nembhard (with Mathurian in package)
4-Philly: Maxey (depending on if their return for Harden brings in another PG…. Kyrie rumours here)
5- Detroit: Killian Hayes and/or Ivey

what are your thoughts? Trade or Free Agency?
I think Atlanta and Dejonte make the most enticing one, but Orlando can provide us with better assets overall.
