He’s great as a backup guard. Not as great if they are planning on him being the main PG.
I guess Claxton’s extension is secondary
This is totally fine, IF he is moving into that 6trh man role. But if we are locking him up as our starting PG it’s a bad move.
They should also focus on Claxton not Spence here.
When are fans going to realize that Dinwiddie isn’t the problem?
He is not a starting point guard. He is a combo guard that can play at point, depending on the situation.
The Nets were forced to rely on Dinwiddie because he is possibly the only player on the team who can create his own shot AND create for others.
Dinwiddie is not a star though, so you can’t expect him to suddenly become an all star point guard. And he did a good job for the most part (barring end of game situations).
I’d be happy to have Dinwiddie back, as long as the price is ok. In the meantime, we need to get a true PG.

He’s too old (30 now) Mikal is 27 and Dariq is 18! Stupid to give a multi-year contract to Dinwiddie when we know he has reached his ceiling and we would be better off using his salary and minutes on the court to a younger player. Dinwiddie would be far better off playing for a contender. That’s not us in the next two seasons.

I don’t want to see Dinwiddie in BKN. I can’t stand his game and his incessant crying to the refs. He’s also not well liked around the NBA. It’s rare that a ref calls a player a “bitch ass” ninja.
