Damian Lillard just requested a trade from the Portland Trailblazers, and the Brooklyn Nets, Miami Heat, LA Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers and more are expected to try and trade for him this offseason.
The Nets is the best trade offers in my opinions because they can't not tank and they have players and draft picks for the trail blazers. Imagine Dame Dolla in the Nets lineup Dame, Bridges,CJ, DFS, Claxton
Jaylen brown and brogdan take 2 1st and 2 seconds Prichard to for dame Lillard. That is the best package in the nba. đ„đ„đ„way better then heat offer
The Damian Lillard/ Trail Blazers situation really, really reminds me a lot of what just happened with my football team the Green Bay Packers and our then future HoF QB Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers was the best QB Green Bay's ever had (and that's saying something) but both sides kinda knew it was over between them yet neither side wanted to initiate the break up and so just did this weird dance of saying one thing in public yet doing things that said opposite. The Dame/Portland scenario doesn't seem to be ending in an acrimonious way like the Rodgers/Packers situation did, so that's good.
I doubt Portland is going to reward Dame and Miami for their obvious and continued tampering with Damr. Dame can ask all he wsnts. He is notq Bradley Beal with a no trade clause. I can see Brooklyn though.
Whyâd you think that Herro is more valuable than Kyle Lowry? Kyle Lowry is a one year contract with veteran experience can help Scoot and Simons.
Portland also wants to trade Nurkic away. The Brooklyn advantage will be two TPE 18m&19m can be used for acquiring Dame +Nurkic. Simmons+5FRP+TPE <->Dame+Nurkic In this scenario The nets roster will be way better than the heats. Plus the Simmons contract can help blazerâs fill the minimum salary spending amount.
Damian Lillard would likely become the number one option on the Miami Heat. The offense would get an insane boost. To make the best team possible, Miami needs to sign some bigs and they can be cheap too.
Thatâs cute ppl think he might go to Brock the odds of that is low. KD wanted PHO he got PHO. Harden wanted Philly. He got Philly. Stars of that caliber usually get what they want
The miami deal is awful. Nothing nice about it just 50 mil in useless salary and two whatever picks. Theyve got 3 young stud guards and are setvat forward. Bams is the only thing miami has that they should want outside of the obvious mr butler. But portland is awful so maybe theyll do it. Id call toronto philly milwaukee first. They actually have interesting pieces.
Dame is not the best player in franchise history. Bill Walton is.
That being said, the Dame Time era was a lot of fun and Portland did make a run to the conference finals with Dame and CJ. A run to the conference finals validates an era.
If Im Portland I try and reroute Herro for more picks. I like Herro, but theyve already got quite a bit of young depth at guard. I think theres a couple teams that might pay a pick or two to reroute him to their organization. As a Celtics fan, Im kinda annoyed we pulled off a deal for Porzingis when I think he would have still been on the table right now but they would have remained a bit more flexible in terms of a Damian Lillard deal. Anything but Brown and Tatum, and all their picks going forward (even though I hate giving up a decade worth of picks) he would have fit in nicely and I think pushed them over the top.
Here's a 4 team deal with Dame going to Miami that makes sense. Miami gets Dame. Blazers get Demar Derozan, Nikola Jovic, and 2 firsts. Bulls get Tyler Herro, a 1st pick swap, and 2 blazers seconds. Spurs get Kyle Lowry and 2 seconds. Who says no and why?
The timing is so bizarre for Lillard. Now Blazers have 3 really good and promising young players and have no incentive to cater to Lillard's trade request. None of the teams mentioned have a young player that Blazers would want.
For Brooklyn it makes little sense to trade for Lillard because, unless you can actually get Simmons' contract moved, they are at best a 2nd round exit team until Lillard retires. (to clarify, assuming they do somehow move Simmons their 3 best players would be Cam Johnson, Mikal Bridges and Damian Lillard and would have close to no salary cap flexibility to improve their roster barring some buyout players. Call me crazy but that doesn't sound like a championship team)
Heat have little to offer, assuming they don't want to move Bam.
76ers – ironically, I thought they'd be the ones selling after how their season ended and with the Harden drama going on… Who else has better young players and picks that 76ers would want? Anyway, do you really think you'd be better off with Lillard in exchange for both Harden and Maxey? Probably not.
Clippers have to essentially scam someone because they have nothing a rebuilding Blazers team would want assuming they wont outright swap Lillard for Paul George.
If I'm Blazers GM I'm in no rush. Talent on the roster is significantly better than the record of last two seasons suggests. Out of respect for Lillard I'd have him involved in these talks but make no mistake, if he really wants out, now is most definitely not the time Blazers would be doing him any favors.
If I was Portland I would get on the phone with Brooklyn yesterday and start trying to get Cameron Payne and some of those firsts. Nothing Miami has to offer interests me.
Idk why the Blazers would want Maxey back in a trade, not that he's a bad player, but he doesn't make sense with who they have there in Scoot, Simmons, and Sharpe

Best player in franchise history?!? đnah fam that would be Clyde Drexler
People keep hyping Miami, but I think Brooklyn has been the more likely destination from the start

IMO this is a negative to Damianâs Legacy.
I hope that whether he gets moved or not, people start to wake up and take that âLoyaltyâ tag away from Dame.
Is it too late for the Blazers to rescind their offer to Grant or work a sign and trade.
If I remember correctly, AD requested a trade to the Lakers. You do can request to be traded to a specific team.
Jaylen brown and brogdan take 2 1st and 2 seconds Prichard to for dame Lillard. That is the best package in the nba. đ„đ„đ„way better then heat offer
I would still put Clyde as best player in Portlands history.

Miami is offering quality over quantity though
If I was going to trade my best player to Miami, I'd want Bam and a couple more from Miami. The last thing I'd want is anything to do with Simmons.
if Dame is the best in the franchise history, what about Clyde the Slide?

He makes very little sense going to Nets imo. They not contenders…not with Benđ . Blazers ain't taking Ben. 76ers maybe…but I hope not.
Miami better find a 3rd team because i dont want white jordan poole on the blazers
Dame kind of screwed over portland by having grant sign that contract. I would send Dame to where you get the best package
They REALLY should have waited on that Grant extension now….Yikes…….
Thatâs cute ppl think he might go to Brock the odds of that is low. KD wanted PHO he got PHO. Harden wanted Philly. He got Philly. Stars of that caliber usually get what they want
I donât think Bkn can trade Cam because of his contract he just signed
Damn I kinda want Dame vs Beal in a finals situation.
Dame after wasting his whole career: Let me ask for a trade request.

The canât trade cam Johnson after they just signed home til December
My out of the blue team would be the Jazz, sending him back to Utah and sending JC and whatever else Portland wants besides Markkanen and Kessler
Dame is not the best player in franchise history. Bill Walton is.

Dame did Portland dirty…..
Trade him to T wolves for Rudy.
Rip city does not want duncan or hero.

As a nets fan that is WAY too much
would be awesome if he go's to lakers

Dame on the heat or sixers would be epic . I can only hope for it to happen though.
Honesty Iâd love for okc to send maybe 2 firsts for grant to help out the front court I think heâd pair well with Chet
0:50 I like how the analytics win stat is like + 1 Extra win
My nets has done soooooo many bad trades idk if we will just jump into this tbh
BK wonât give up nearly that many picks for Dame. It wouldnât hamper their entire future after 2025. Wonât happen. Maybe 2 picks and a swap.
It's interesting Lillard's career is taking a similar path to Clyde Drexler's but I really hope he wins more than one ring.
going to the heat

Dame to the Heat đ„
No thanks keep him away from the nets
His wiki page in Portuguese-Brazilian says he is already a Heat player

Blazers plan on keeping the Grant contract, idk why but it is
60 million dollars when heâs 40 years old I would trade him in a heartbeat
